Topic: So no Gamecube VC on Wii U?

I'm pretty sure Wind Waker will be the only one remade from the ground up. They might go the PS2 HD collection route and update the current visuals and sound, while being mapped to the Pro controller as VC games, but don't expect more than that. I honestly hate remakes unless it's appropriate.

They'll remake the gamecube games to mask the fact that they're missing analog input.

I would rebuy most of the Gamecube games I've enjoyed if I am given the chance to play them on the Gamepad.

Favorite Game: Metroid Prime Hunters

I would love to have GC games but even more than that I want Dreamcast games on the Wii U if it's possible. The Dreamcast is my favorite console of all time and I've still got it with a ton of incredible games from it's time in the limelight, which was sadly cut way too short. If I could get Dreamcast games, I'd be able to flog off my stuff and re-live some classics like Shenmue I & II, PSO (unless they confirm PSO2) and so many rare ones like Seaman ect.

Maybe they can make it so that pressing the trigger once equals lightly pressing the gamecube trigger, and pressing it twice rapidly equals push the gc trigger down all the way.

HD Sunshine would be fantastic.

I still don't get why they chose Wind Waker. I honestly don't much care for the HD. The game was flawless as it was. Why not Twilight Princess, a game that practically BEGS to be HD, and one they even kind of teased with that Wii U tech demo?

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

Are the Wii U pro controller triggers digital too? Not all games took advantage of the GC analog triggers anyway.

I'm fine with Nintendo simply remaking the best GC titles for the Wii U. The rest can still be played on your GC or Wii if you really want them.

I make Pixel Art on occasion, and sometimes sell them as Game Assets.

Even though I have the Metroid Prime trilogy for Wii, I will still be happy to re-purchase it via WII U VC. Same goes for Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion (which I had never beat).

Remember Nintendo said they also plan on adding Game Boy Advance games as well to their VC. Also Eternal Darkness trademark was re-issued so hopefully we will see the first game on the Wii U VC or something.

Actually they mentioned why they did Wind Waker. They were tinkering with HD graphics with older Zelda games, and Wind Waker stood out among them.

Fine by me.
I'm more excited about what they're bringing over from the GBA.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

Hmm, The Gamepad and Wii U Pro controller have 1 extra shoulder trigger, so what if they made it so that when L is held down, ZL and ZR work at 33/50% while not holding down L makes them both at 100%? Very few GC games really require analog input, and most that do don't particularly use a broad range.

As a dev of blargSNES, just stop with the claims that o3DS can emulate SNES games accurately @ 60fps. It cannot.

Nintendo like to milk their franchises and I believe they are afraid that, in many cases, people will only buy the most recent version of a game. As such, I believe they will release Gamecube games in the Virtual Console, but only after they release a large number of older consoles' games.

i'm not to fused if they make HD version of Gamecube games because i have a Gamecube to play my Gamecube games, in fact the only Nintendo console i no longer own is the Wii because i gave that to my niece when i got a WiiU

i'm not sure how i feel about an all digital future but if they sort the prices out (why they still cost more than physical i'll never know) and give us HUGE HDD's then it should be fine i guess

SparkOfSpirit

Not every Gamecube game will get a HD release, though. Super Monkey Ball, Viewtiful Joe, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door probably won't- and those are some of my favorite GC games.

Without VC, they probably wouldn't get a re-release.

Just remember that nintendo recommends an External HDD for the wii u, and also remember that GC games are around 8GB. obviously this means something, nintendo expects to use those HDD's a lot in the future. if they can import FULL wii u games, I'm sure it will happen. it will just take time to make an emulator, I noticed just in super mario world that there is a slight lag sometimes. future updates will fix this.
and another note, its taken years just for dolphin to be able to emulate on a high end computer, I'm sure this will be a process

To play or not to play is the easy question
