As far as I'm concerned, Wii U's free online, Deluxe Digital Promo, and discounts are already worth having over PS+.
Since I don't have to pay for online, that automatically gives me $55 of leeway to buy games that I can keep. Even if they're indie games, I'll still end up with more in the long run, because I get to kepp them.

Why would you suddenly not pay for the subscription?
PS3, PSP, and PS Vita don't require PS+. That's why.
That's why I'm saying that PS4 benefits the most from PS+, because all those discounts and borrowed games are technically just perks, at that point.
There's little incentive to pay for things you can't keep. If you buy PS+ on PS3 or PS Vita, you subscribe, knowing that you will pay more money to take advantage the discounts, which tend to happen without the subscription, anyway.
This is probably why PS Now exists, because they see people borrowing games through PS+, so now they're making a service to borrow even more. If I was a "hardcore" PS fan, I would be asking PS Now to be included with PS+, because it's essentially the same thing, sans the discounts.

Free online maybe......but I really doubt anyone would take the deluxe digital promo over PS+ with free online like it is on PS3 and Vita.... for starters the deluxe digital promo is only on Wii U which only a small percentage of users have, it doesn't do anything for you if you only have a 3DS which mathematically is most of Nintendo customers at the moment.....

Except for... the threat of losing said things. Say you can't afford to pay for the odd month, well you'll be back again when your budget allows and no harm done.
Think about a membership at a club, you pay and get exclusive benefits. Stop paying in and out go the benefits.
@Optometristlime
If you miss a month of PS+, you miss out on borrowing 1 month of games, PS+ doesn't allow a back catalogue of previously offered games. Once you miss a month, those games offered in that month never come back.
@VincentV
The Deluxe Digital Promo isn't an alternative to better services, so it has nothing to do with what Nintendo can offer, subscription based or not.
Like I said, I'm all for better service and possibly a subscription service.
The difference us that Sony is charging for online to maintain what they currently have, while Nintendo would be offering more to expand their service. There's a difference between maintenance and expansion.
Sony is selling buildings to maintain their business. Nintendo is building buildings to expand their business.

Right, I was just saying that the games you do "own" in some manner for the months you paid, will be reinstated.
I dunno, pros and cons.

I miss my Wii Fit trial period and the deals so… isn't that the same thing?

Ya, but you didn't pay to have those deals. PS+ most likely would have only had a deal like that, if you were a PS+ member.
"PS+ members have access to an exclusive PS Fit 4 promotion!"
^That's something they would do for a promo like that, instead of allowing access to all of their customers. This is just a hypothetical situation, but that's how they do things with PS+, usually.
