I got my Pikmin3 eCode from Game and redeemed it on Wednesday, before the game had released on eShop (Midnight Thursday) and because I still have not got my Premium Points I telephoned Nintendo Support where I was told: "Because the Code was redeemed before Pikmin was officially released the Premium reward system would not of detected your purchase. Premium reward purchases will only be detected by direct purchase from eShop or eCodes redeemed once the software has been released on the eShop".
If you now buy Pikmin3 eCode from GAME UK you will get the Premium Reward Points. (Usage Guide on Nintendo Premium website even tells you download codes are eligible for reward points)
The Knock on effect is that its probable that eCodes brought from GAME will still qualify you for 30% off Wonderfull101 promo, but NOT if you redeemed your Pikmin3 eCode before it was available on eShop.

Games make a great console, not technical specs.

Nintendo customer services have told me the same thing,
that if the Pikmin 3 download code was redeemed before the release date it would not qualify for the 30% off W101
The only reasons I cancelled my £23 Flubit Pikmin 3 order was because of both the Premium points and W101 offers.
Nintendo support said they have now contacted Nintendo Europe to confirm what they have told me & will call me this next week.
I think if enough people phone Nintendo support they may change things but it seems most people will just except how it is, or will not realize until they go to buy W101.
This site even reported about the slightly early Game UK offers
'extra incentive with the download version as by choosing this method you'll be eligible to pick up the digital adaptation of The Wonderful 101 at a reduced price when it emerges '

If this is all true and confirmed to be the case, then why did Nintendo Europe / Uk allow early downloads of Pikmin 3?? Surely it would have been better for customer relations either: 1 Not allow Pikmin 3 to be downloaded until Midnight of July 26th, or 2 Just honour the published agreement. It has to be in Nintendo's and other publishers best interests for Eshop downloads to do well as they have not got boxing, printing of DVD, or shipping costs to factor in. If people think thy have been misled they will be less likely to download Eshop titles in the future.

In the same boat, got the GAME download code on Wednesday thinking "Ace! I can play Pikmin 3 on my day off and get the promo stuff!" but not seen any update on my premium points for Pikmin yet.
It's a little lame though if this is how the system works. With the news Wonderful 101 is going to be 10GB - Pikmin took about 4 hours to download on my connection, W101 is going to take at least half a day! So I lose any advantage of being able to purchase the title at midnight, when retail consumers would of likely got it in the post that morning and already been playing. It's a shame because I was kind of half hoping it was a sneaky slip by GAME and Nintendo to help get positive word out for Pikmin (and in turn, the eshop too as a viable alternative to retail)
I was going to buy retail prior to this so I suppose I wouldn't of been eligible for the promo anyway. But even if the automated Premium system missed it, Nintendo should have a means of manually adding the points or something. This is part of the reason people avoid supporting digital, the rules are so rigid compared to Retail. Make it a little softer and people might go for it more often

Well I got my Club Nintendo survey and mt purchase of Pikmin3 via eCode still registered on my eShop purchase history, I didn't ask about the 101 Promo tbh, so although it's probable that redeeming the code early has voided me from the promo, there is still a chance due to registering on Club Nintendo and Purchase History.

To be fair to Nintendo in regards of the premium reward points the game wasn't purchaseble from eStore untill Midnight thursday and all the digital stores often have games up on the infrastructure before release day. Hence why on PSN and XBL from time to time you can get early access codes to download games before launch day.
The thing is really GAME should not of distributed the codes out early and just because Pikmin3 was up, but hidden on the eStore doesn't mean that other backend stuff within the infrastructure would be in place or active (eStore to Premium Rewards link for example).
You would like to think that Nintendo would link Early Pikmin purchases retrospectively, however in reality that could be quite time consuming and impractical... though not impossible.

Hmmm it's all a bit of a mess to be honest, as I have manged to register the game on my club Nintendo account and claim the stars. Thinking back their was a disclaimer on the GAME website stating that codes were unable to be redeemed before midnight on the 26th. But we all know how that turned out!!, maybe it would have been better for Game to distribute activation codes at 0.01 am on the 26th and avoid this. The only good thing to come out of this so far for me is that I got reward points for the purchase from Game and an extra 500 points for a first time buy of downloadable software from their site.
I have emailed Nintendo customer support for clarity but don't expect an answer I will like!!

Not sure how things will go but I've further emailed Customer support, with a very stern complaint regarding the non eligibility of Premium Reward Points and (possibly) The Wonderfull101 promo.
The jist of it is that its totally unfair and unsatisfactory to penalize us who did download Pikmin3 early when GAME UK broke the release date by emailing the codes out early and Nintendo themselves didn't put any sort of block on the Codes being valid for redemtion. (an error code or message should of appeared on redemption).
It probably won't change the situation but if Nintendo get enough complaints (email always the best for complaints that don't need immediate remedy) then there's a possibility that those of us who got Pikmin 3 early via code will at least qualify for the Wonderfull 101 promo. Nintendo will probably want to avoid potential negative press towards the WiiU given the recent months and thier pkans on the run up to christmas, more so with Ps4 and Xbone due for release in the near future... I would think/hope so anyway.

I bought and used the download code from Game on the 25th, so have the same problem. I've also emailed Nintendo.

When I emailed Nintendo customer support I did point out that it's in there terms and conditions that any activation code brought at retail is eligible for Nintendo Premium Points and in not issuing the premium points they are breaking their own terms and conditions. I've spoken to my other half who works in retail as business anyalist and she thinks we should get the premium points as it's part of the Network Premium offer.
As I said earlier and as you have mentioned it would have been easy to block early downloads on Eshop by not authorising them at check out or Game not sending codes out early.
It's also negative press that Wii U can ill afford, as you point out with PS4 & Xbox 1 looming. We've all seen the damage M$ recieved at the Xbox 1 and their subsequent turn around. Surely it would be better for Nintendo Uk/Europe to honour the previous agreements and put things into place that early digital redemption of software codes cannot happen again.
This will also make people think twice about downloading full retail titles and just wait for the boxed copies to come down in price. The only ones to loose out here will be Nintendo and publishers.

If/When I get a response I'll post again. To be fair and Clear I think its Partly GAME UK's fault for breaking Realease Date, and Nintendo's fault or not putting a block on the Code redemption system. Some responsibility could be placed on us who tried to redeem the codes early but the fact remains that if the Codes were not sent out early and/or a block on the codes was in place then no-one would of been able to download Pikmin3 early, thus there wouldn't be an issue.

Just got a reply to my email:
"We can confirm that we are currently looking into this issue for customers who have not received their premium points for the purchase of Pikmin 3. This investigation may take up to 5-7 working days, if your issue has not been resolved in this time please let us know."

Yeah same here although theRes no mention of the Wonderfull101 promo as NL reported the other day like the Premium Points the Wonderfull101/Pikmin Promo will apply to those of us who redeemed the Pikmin3 code early.
14. Posted: Fri 2nd Aug 2013 14:15 BST
Here is my email response in full
"Thank you for your email regarding the Pikmin 3 (30% off Wonderful 101) promotion.
In regards to your query, the offer is available to customers who purchase the Pikmin 3 software title through the Nintendo eShop (available from 26th July 2013) and pre-release date via download codes from high street retailers. Pikmin 3 has to be downloaded using the same Nintendo eShop account on the same Wii U console.
In relation to Nintendo Network Premium points, you are still eligible to receive your points. We are aware that some customers have not received their points and we are currently investigating this. Please allow 3 - 7 working days in order to reply with a resolution. Please rest assured that the points will be added as soon as possible."
The way I read this is that we will get our network points within 7 days, plus since all of us downloaded Pikmin (even pre release) are still eligible for 30% of W101. A good result I'd say.

@Farmboy, Some slight different wording on my email, but I read mine to mean that despite getting the game we'll still qualify for 101 promo and we'll get the Premium points owed to us. (NL also reported as such before I got my email)
Although my email said 5-7 working days not 3 its not clear wether the time frame is from date of them recieving or responding to my original email. I assuming its 5-7 days from them responding.

Just wondering, has anyone who redeemed the GAME eCode for Pikmin3 early recieved the missing Nintendo Reward Points yet?
I havn't yet though based on my email from support Friday is the latest they should turn up for me.
17. Posted: Thu 8th Aug 2013 11:17 BST
@GiftedGimp, no, point still haven't been received yet.

Looks like another Angry email or maybe a phone call to support is needed. My email from them said that the issue should be resolved in 5-7 working days.. Today (friday) is the 7th working day since I recieved that email.
19. Posted: Fri 9th Aug 2013 08:03 BST
Just checked my account and the points have been added.
20. Posted: Fri 9th Aug 2013 11:41 BST
Yes Mine are there aswell. 336 points added. Because they only credit you points for the value after VAT you get points for the value of £33.61 but on the plus side value of the game is taken from the eStore (£39.99), not the eCode price (£34.99).
Hope everyone else gets thier points today.
