Topic: Nintendo Network = Best Console Online Service?

Things got really off topic in another forum but are finally back on track. For those of you that want to continue this conversation here is a forum created just for you.

I have loved my experience with the WiiU Nintendo Network so far. The eShop is very easy to use. I can spend hours on the Miiverse having fun. The few times I have played multiplayer it has been awesome. It is missing some features but I look forward to Nintendo updating it later to bring Party Chat as well as other things.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well, I only love Nintendo Network because of Miiverse. In terms of actual in-game connectivity, it's good, but not anything to write home about. I perfer Steam over anything, though, and I like Xbox Live less than Nintendo Network, but again, only because of Miiverse.

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

I do love the Miiverse. Xbox Live has been getting on my nerves as they increased the price and the only thing that changed about it was more ads. I don't care about ESPN why do I have to pay 10 bucks more for others to enjoy it?

To answer the question....No. It's still dead last but it is a massive step up from what they offered with the Wii.

MiiVerse is genius, IMO. Nintendo Network atm as a whole is ok, but I'm expecting it to get MUCH better before too long, especially with the addition of the MiiVerse to the 3DS, which I can't wait for.

I think PSN is dead last. The only way to make PSN any good is subscribing to Playstation Plus. The PSN store is very hard to navigate. Found the online to be spotty. I also think Microsoft charges way too much for what they offer, at least to people that just want to play games. Xbox Live is only worth it if you use all the extras. WiiU is only focused on games currently and this is why it is the best experience for me.

Nintendo Network is mediocre. Not great but not bad. This, btw, is coming from a lifelong Nintendo fan. XBL has a better service but is overpriced. PSN... Well, I haven't had any experience with Playstation Plus but the free PSN is... Well, compared to NN, it has it's strengths and weaknesses. NN is evolving slow but on the right path, I hope Nintendo picks up the pace with it. But for a free service, I think it's pretty good. Could be better but could be much worse and at least it's free.

Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV

Did you want objective analysis or a bunch of unsubstantiated opinions for this thread?

It doesn't matter either way as far as I'm concerned; Wii U is still fifth of the gaming download services/ online infrastructures but I just wanted to check.

I have to disagree there. PSN is 1st but Nintendo Network is a not-too-distant second. All services are a bit too clunky for my taste but PSN wins out due to it's unified service and Playstation Plus promotion.

Like you said though, Nintendo Network has MiiVerse and that's only going to expand in the future, so check back with me in the next several months.

I'd like to see Miiverse integration in more games in some form or another. People there are very helpful without so much as calling you a noob.

Also the service is finally starting to get some of the premium DLC offered on other consoles.

PSN > NN, not by a huge amount, but substantially enough to be able to see who's the victor. You also have to remember that next gen Sony will probably have significantly advanced online capabilities on their new system, and then Nintendo will have to do something about NN. Although I do like the user friendliness of NN.

Oh, and I have no experience with XBL, but having to pay just to play games online seems pretty lame to me.

Remember, NN will get much better with the addition of MiiVerse to 3DS and to smartphones.

Only time will tell if Nintendo Network will improve from here on out. As of now, it's vastly inferior to the other services.
