@MrWalkieTalkie - Naw, Minecraft still has it beat. Angry Birds is decent, and not too many people get as into it as Minecraft. Both CoD and Angry Birds have been losing popularity. Also, and I'll hear this with spme CoD fans, but it seems like whenever I talk to a Minecraft fan they talk about how great the game is and how that's all they play and etc etc. I'll say it's way too overrated and they'll throw a fit. They'll go on and on and on about how perfect Minecraft is. Minecraft doesn't even have a story, or good music. I'll hear CoD fans argue, but I have never heard of a die-hard Angry Birds fan. Finally, CoD has progressively been getting lower ratings, so, yeah.

...Yet aren't you a fan of Animal Crossing? Not that you're right (IIRC, the point is to survive using the tools at your disposal, tools of which also can be used for a myriad of other things, as people who build their own castles could easily tell you), but if you were, why would you find that any more depressing than games like Animal Crossing?

This, but... in all seriousness, what game has a real point, besides making you have fun?

Honestly, I wasn't even looking at it that way. I was looking at the point as being "what is the goal of the game? How do I win? As in not fail?" There's really no way to "beat" animal Crossing, nor is there a way to genuinely "fail". In Minecraft, I don't know of a way to "beat" it, but I do know how to "fail". Therefore the point is to last as long as possible. If he's just looking for a game to beat, though, he will definitely be disappointed, though that's why people tend to make up their own challenges in the game.

Then there's also the narrative standpoint, in which case he might be right about Minecraft, but still, there are tons of games that don't have much narrative motivation for what you're doing, so it's not like it makes it any different. As you (KiDasharus) say, the point's just to have fun. In a game's case, you don't always need much of a story to accomplish that.

Never said it wasn't the same with Animal Crossing, however with that I think a better word would be boring.

In minecraft most of the time it's just me and a the useless contraptions and figures I create.
I can pretend that block of wool is a table and that that piece of stairs is chairs but... Why? What's the point?
Why create a castle if I have no use for the space or anything do in it? I don't even need more than a room with enough space for a chest and some furnaces.
Why keep going if there's nothing to look forward to? That's the very essence of depression.

It's fun when I'm online or building things with my brother, and I really love the game then. But if I play it too much or by myself, it gets dreadfully boring and pointless. Even more than AC.

Every game is like that, but I find minecraft dying faster on me that most other games.

As long as the Wii U version can do Split Screen Multiplayer like the 360 can, it'll be excellent. After all, I feel that split screen multiplayer is the only thing that Minecraft for a console is really good for. The PC version is FAR more updated (horses and baby zombies anyone?) and the ability to mod makes the game endless. Need an objective? MODS ARE YOUR FRIEND. Make your own adventure.

I make dungeons for my 10 yr old nephew to stumble upon and explore. I fill them with complex redstone traps and puzzles to solve. I plant enemy spawners in secret rooms and what not. Minecraft is great fun.

Minecraft is so popular, I honestly believe despite coming out for the next Xbox and Playstation, putting it on Wii U would still increase sales for the console by quite a bit. Not even kidding.

You're right they don't flame. They clog up the internet with generic one liner compliments for the game example: OMG this is the best game EVER! -YOLOSWAG42

I don't want it if it's just the solo campaign. We better be able to play and talk with others. I think the Gamepad would be neat with MC. Anyway, I don't know how N's online works, as I've yet to pick up a Wii U. Hopefully MC does come to Wii U.

I'd say they should put it on the Wii U. I mean I'm not one of those 'PC elitist,' But I will say that the PC version will always be better than a console version. If not for any other reason than the controls work better on PC. But I think it would definitely help with Wii U sales, it wouldn't be a system seller but I think it would definitely be some extra incentive for someone who is interested in it and is on the fence about purchasing a Wii U. As far as the 3DS goes, I think it's the same situating as the Wii U, but if they could make it 3D then that would be awesome. But I already have it for PC and don't own a Wii U so if it did come to the Wii U/3DS I wouldn't be picking it up.
