This was honestly the most interesting of the ideas for future Remix games. I'm trying to think of what games would fit best for this...without it just being a difficult platformer fest.
Current ideas:
-Pacman
-Megaman 2
-Castlevania
-River City Ransom
-Ninja Gaiden
-Tecmo Superbowl
-Gargoyle's Quest 2
-Blaster Master
-Bubble Bobble
-Final Fantasy
-Dragon Warrior
-Contra
-Metal Gear
-maybe add another Megaman or Castlevania because why not
Honestly I don't see Final Fantasy working for this. It is a famous and influential game, but the gameplay is too slow to hold this kind of rapid fire challenges.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
Yeah, it would have to be a single 3rd party developer. Just Konami, just Capcom, etc. And obviously they'd only be able to use the characters and game elements they still hold the rights to.
It's a great idea, but if it ever happens it'll have to be some fan doing it on his own and posting it for free online.

because...?
Because otherwise it would b a hassle to coordinate. Just working with one third party would b possible. Too many would b crazy and less likely, though not impossible. If anything i am expecting Capcom, even though Konami would be awesome.
I don't see how licensing fees and royalties will work with this...
Nintendo's able to do this because all of the games being remixed are their own properties. No licensing fees, royalties, or intellectual property arrangements to sort out. The moment you start tossing more companies into the pot is the moment you infinitely complicate the development.
I'm not saying it's likely, but you shouldn't assume it's impossible. Ever. EVER. Honestly the only reason I'd say it's probably not gonna happen is because it's a semi-quickie downloadable type of title that isn't worth the effort . I mean the current Smash Bros is already a game where you can conceivably have Mario vs. Sonic vs. Megaman while Galaga aliens attack.
I wouldn't say keep to one company but it wouldn't happen with as many devs as I named definitely. At most it'd be Capcom, Konami and whichever one is most desperate for attention because they haven't mattered lately (who owns Blaster Master nowadays anyway?)
Here's a quote from the director of NES Remix, Koichi Hayashida:
Well personally I'm a fan of those games (Mega Man, Castlevania, and Contra), and I like them a lot. If there's a big enough outpouring of support for these titles, it's something I'd like to take a look at.

IGN asked NES Remix director Koichi Hayashida about the possibility of expanding the series to include non-Nintendo made games like Mega Man, Castlevania, and Contra. “Well personally I'm a fan of those games, and I like them a lot,” Hayashida said. “If there's a big enough outpouring of support for these titles, it's something I'd like to take a look at.”
Before they rolled out NES REMIX they made all its 16 included NES games available on Wii U VC.
01. Balloon Fight
02. Baseball
03. Clu Clu Land
04. Donkey Kong
05. Donkey Kong Jr.
06. Donkey Kong 3
07. Excitebike
08. Golf
09. Ice Climber
10. Mario Bros.
11. Pinball
12. Super Mario Bros.
13. Tennis
14. The Legend of Zelda
15. Urban Champion
16. Wrecking Crew
They did the same before releasing NES REMIX 2.
01. Dr. Mario
02. Ice Hockey
03. Kid Icarus
04. Kirby's Adventure
05. Metroid
06. NES Open Tournament Golf
07. Punch-Out!!
08. Super Mario Bros. 2
09. Super Mario Bros. 3
10. Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels
11. Wario's Woods
12. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
They recently released Volleyball and Mach Rider so maybe that's some light indication for an eventual release of NES REMIX 3.
However Nintendo used up all their greatest NES games already so I doubt it.
Mario & Yoshi is one of the released games that wasn't used yet, and there isn't much more to be released (Soccer, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Yoshi's Cookie, Devil World, Smash Table Tennis) if they don't use their Japanese franchises (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Joy Mecha Fight) and release new NES VC games (Earthbound Zero, Pro Wrestling, Duck Hunt, Nintendo World Cup).
They might be able to get just Capcom and Konami to agree to it. (Depends if they can show a massive increase in sales of stuff that was included in the others.) They are both still releasing stuff on the VC. Even more so if they just receive a cut of the money without having to put any work into it.
