£9 seems fair.
I would like it on the 3DS too though.

So...it doesn't come with the full Zelda updated? Meh..that was the main draw for me. Half of these games don't even interest me. Guess I'll be saving my money.

The games themselves shouldn't have to interest you

So, is this like a minigame compilation then? Looking at some of the screens, its making me think that it could be similar to WarioWare or something. (I know the minigames aren't simplistic like WarioWare, lol)

I love Erica (Strike Witches), Yuuki, and for some odd reason, Megumi (School Rumble)
Update: Also love Yukari and Mizore from Rosario + Vampire.
Another Update: Also Amber and Xiao Pai from Rune Factory 4.

Downloaded it without hesitation. I can 't move on unless I get rainbow shinies! So obsessive overt that so it's gonna be a long time till I finish it. Very fun for anyone wondering.

I don't have any convincing words for people who think it looks overpriced. For me the presentation here alone feels like I got my money's worth. Great homage to the nes classics, I say

They're more tidbits than minigames. Imagine taking 10 seconds (upwards to a few minutes) from an NES game, throw in a challenge, and make it a stage. This is how the game is laid out. It's very similar to Warioware.

Now imagine playing Mario Bros with the camera constantly zooming out as you try to defeat enemies, or playing a Mario level as an endless runner, or playing a stage backwards, or playing donkey kong as Link. That's the juicy part

Is it not kind of wierd that the titlescreen says 2013-2014? Seems to me that dlc is definitely incoming in some shape or form.

Probably because the Wiimote is all you really need for the game, and is the best option 8)

I found a pretty good video explaining what the game is all about, so if you're on the edge about buying it, check this out and decide for yourself.

This game was an unexpected surprise, and it's a really good surprise. I've been obsessed with rainbow star rating.

Actually, the only control option it supports is the gamepad, which I find very bizarre.

Can someone confirm if this supports off-TV play on the Gamepad only? Thanks.

With off-screen play they shrink the screen so they can put a border/title-bar, it's a bit annoying at first imo.

My opinion of NES Remix in brief:

  • Works best for people with the obsessive compulsion to 100% everything. As a definite plus, it's quite quick to restart a challenge after a missed jump.
  • Some physics and jumping models (Ice Climber, Mario Bros especially) will make you see the Belmont family appear as the greatest trapeze or parkour artists ever.
  • Pinball and Golf for "speedrun" challenges? Especially the latter is a pretty daft idea.
  • Now I know why Urban Champion/Ice Climber/Pinball/... is considered bad and not worth the asking price on the Wii U VC.
  • If this is, in a way, promo for the old NES games, why not take the idea a bit further and offer a discount for those who have rainbow-starred a game in NES Remix?
  • "Oh so that's how you'd beat Ganon in Zelda. And that's the ending screen. Now that I've seen the ending, why buy the game?"
  • Some games apparently appear only in the "bonus" stages, that is, they don't have their own set of challenges (For example, Urban Champion, Baseball, Donkey Kong 3).
  • Why can't I stop playing this?

I hear the game has 612 stars in total and I have only 600 or 603.
I think I'm somewhere around 16 hours. I have rainbow-starred all but some of the remix and bonus levels, and the lacking stars are the very last bonus stage, the golf-in-rain stage and two tennis stages. Of the levels I have cleared in Remix I, II and Bonus, I think there's a handful of levels I haven't rainbow-starred.

The Remix stages just aren't all that fun.
