Two things they announced during the first day.

One is a literal Mario level maker and the other one is a series of Skylander-like figurines.

@Moorpheel - I don't think you understand what he's saying. There are clearly two Marios in that picture and one is in 8-bit. He's asking if we think this means there will be an 8-bit Mario amiibo, and if it'll be for Mario Maker as that's the only 8-bit Mario game they announced at E3.

Oh, that's just a made up image.

They simply took art for many characters and used it as a concept for Amiibo.

Like when they showed a girl playing Super Mario Bros and jumping by shaking the wiimote when they announced the Wii.

doubt it.

Why? It's already been stated they'll have multiple versions of different characters, so I can't see why they wouldn't make an 8-bit-look Mario figurine. I expect they'll be making tons of these things. Whether or not Mario Maker supports Amiibo is something else, but I have a feeling they'll try to make these figures work with as many games as they can.

because they have confirmed figures for all smash fighters. that means atleast 40 are pland within the first 6 months of launch. think about that. i doubt we will see an 8 bit mario any time soon.

A wiki site isn't confirmation. It doesn't even have any source cited.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

But I mean seeing as all the games that got confirmed is on that site I think it's a safe assumption that it's confirmed.

Who are you?

Isn't Mario Maker releasing in 2015? By that time I'm sure they could've released an 8-bit version, or at least announce one

I heard someone at E3 mention that specifically as one of the supported games but not in what context.
