Basically a demo but you get the full game for a limited time instead of a small portion for free.
The rental time would be an hour's game time and cost would depend on the price of the game. You would be able to play the game up until an hour then it is deleted from your system. No limitations on days it takes to reach that hour.
If I'm not mistaken, PS Now is mostly old games (PS3 as a matter of fact)
So far, yes. I thought Sony was hoping to expand it at some point, though. Of course, whether that'll be in 2 years, or 2 years after the PS5 is out remains to be seen...
If blockbuster had not shut down in the uk I might have used it for a few first party releases they are so short I could blast through them in the time.

Knowing publishers these days, I don't see Sony offering newly released games except for Sony-published games

It depends something like sports games they could get more from a rental model. (i.e if Fifa was only available for £7 a month people would still get it).
This could be interesting! I know that it would make it easier for the crew of my website to review a larger number of games since it would allow us to rent games that we wouldn't normally buy at full-price.

Can you not do that with one of those disks by post services anyway ?

So you can experience all the content of a game for less money? Not sure how many Devs/Publishers would be interested
That doesn't have to be true. They just have to make the games harder. (Ecco the Dolphin was designed so it couldn't be finished with a rental specifically).

So basically something like PSNow only with new games. Well I have to say I am impressed with PS Now it has given me the ability to play alot of games that I missed on the PS3 so if they were to add current gen games I would be up for that.
As it is I have a subscription to GameFly so I don't see any difference from that except that it would be digital.

As Tasuki pointed out...it'd just be a digital Gamefly. Last I checked, Publishers have no problem with Gamefly, and you can get all the latest games from that service not long after release. I don't see why they'd be opposed to this.
Ya, I'd say the big 3 would be better off just leaving this stuff to Gamefly. It's possible like what PS Now does, or even what Sega channel or GameTap did, but all of the services like that prior to PS Now were basically failures, and they were cheaper than PS Now by a long shot.
