So some GBA games have now gone onto eshop and wow! i could not believe the price point of these games £6.29 is a ridiculous price IMO, its not the quality of games i have a problem with just the price! IMO they should be about £2.99 MAX, i could understand the prices if the games had added extras in the games but they dont, its a shambles for nintendo to charge us these prices, in truth id much prefer they released maybe 6 games at a time as a physical product at say a price of between £15-20, i just didnt expect these prices and i was shocked, really shocked, what do you guys and gals think?

I always expected them to cost about as much as SNES games, so the price is pretty much what I expected, but yeah, you guys always end up paying more in Europe, so I can understand why you're unhappy.

In Euro, it's €6.99 per game. I think it's a good price point and more than fair. It's €1 cheaper than SNES games. So, chill, take a deep breath.

The GBA games currently lined up for the Wii U VC are some of the best ever, and just 10 years ago would have cost you £25-30. Each one offers at least 20 hours of top-class gaming. Given the quality on offer, I'd say that for £6.29 is ridiculous as well - a ridiculously good price for that kind of value!

I would actually argue that this is one of the best price schemes Nintendo has done for digital titles yet. I feel older games on NES and such should be a bit cheaper. GBA games, though, are only a decade and change old at most. The current (announced) titles have a great deal of depth or content and the prices are far better than what you'll typically find on the second hand market. These are games that hold up very well and they're cheaper than many that don't.

The cheapest (original) GB games on the VC are £2.69, the most expensive GBC ones are £5.39... so "about £2.99 MAX" for GBA was never going to happen. Should they have been priced a bit closer to SNES games (£5.49 apart from Earthbound)? Perhaps, but as noted they are a bit more recent and haven't been re-released as much as other games on the VC.

Yeah, you want a copy of Metroid Fusion, it's gonna cost you double that on eBay or Amazon, without the box and without instructions. You're looking at double again for the full package. £6.29 is nothing.

But your not getting a physical copy of the game playable on any GBA or DS (original/lite) your getting a rom tied to the console.

The awesome thing is, if you think a product is to expensive you don't have to buy it!

Yeah, should be cheaper I agree
But Ninty does sales on the eshop sometimes, so I'll probably wait for sales before I get any of these

You're also getting it on your TV, with VC features, a higher resolution, and the NNID is slowing tying games to that, instead.

If you get a new 3DS, you can type in your NNID and download anything you've bought, given that you unlinked it from the other 3DS. So ya, games won't be tied to console, anymore.

I learned it before I thought I would become entitled to purchase everything for cheap prices.

If the price of the GBA games is to high, what is your opinion on the prices of the snes , nes and gbc games? The prices seem fair even if i would only pay this price for absolute classics. For games that are not classics the price can seem steep at times.

Well I can't take the game with me to my friends and play it on his Wii U which is what I meant by tied to the console and at the moment only Wii U has GBA VC games (excluding ambassador promotion). What I was trying to point out was that having a physical copy provides more freedom with what you can do with the game as you mentioned there are benefits to the VC version as well but I don't think they warrant the price of a physical copy being sold today.

I do find it odd that some gamers buy games...THEN complain about the price or things they should have taken into account before the purchase

Are you saying you'd rather have the cartridge? There's also that the cartridge is being sold for more on the internet. To stay on topic, if $8 or £6 is too much, then you aren't realizing how much cheaper this is than the original or resale price.

People are probably going to complain when DS VC games are $10, even though they used to be $30, and might cost $20 on eBay.
