So, today Eshop gets free Disney Infinity, but the base and figures sold separately. Anybody taking advantage of this, like using Ebay to get the base cheaply with figures?

i don't think it's a good idea though. People will download the game and buy a cheap base and characters from ebay
I think it is a great idea 2.0 comes out in about a month which means people won't be buying 1.0 as much (plus all the money is in the figures) so people can buy 2.0 (with a portal then get some 1.0 playsets) and get free access to 1.0, just a extra push for people to jump in with 2.0
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I just recently bought it for only $30, and it's pretty cool, but clearly to get the most fun out of it you need more figures and discs. So they should really just make the game free to download and just have us worry about collecting the rest, because buying the starter set at it's original price of $75, plus buying individual figures for around $13 each and random discs at $5, the prices really get's high. I'd like it much more if I could just get the game for free then just buy everything else, cause in the end they'll still make lot's of money.

To me, even with the free download, its not worth it to go spend 30$ to get the extra required things to play (the base and 1 character) if it will only bring me a little enjoyment, especially with all the new games coming out soon.

I wonder if Disney sid this as they see the coming Amiibo as a threat as Skylanders in the market leader and a Ninty version will appeal to people with a Ninty console so this is their way of getting a stronger foothold?

I think this is just a deal Nintendo made to try to convince people it is better on Wii U. I remember Nintendo saying something at E3 about how Wii U will be the best platform for all "Toys to Life" games. This could be part of that partnership

I downloaded it last night and it gave me zero club nintendo coins.
It did, however, give me a link to register TMNT for 3DS....a game I've never bought nor indicated that I was intending to buy. sigh....wonky club nintendo.....
