I have a wii u not a wii. I see they have super Mario 64 in the rewards section....but it is marked wii....will it work on the wii u?

If it's only marked with Wii (and not Wii U) it should work in Wii mode on the Wii U.

Yes but you will have to switch to Wii mode on your Wii U, download it there, and play it on that. You won't be able to play the game on the normal Wii U menu or use the gamepad or pro controller. You must use/own a classic controller plugged into a wiimote to play it.

Yes it can play on Wii U but you have to access it in the "Wii Menu" app.

It will work, but you will need a Classic Controller

That is a shame. I really wanted to get super Mario 64, but I only have wiimotes and nun chucks and a pro controller. No wii classic pro controller.
I really wanted my kids to experience this game.

Well Amazon has Classic controllers, may want to check that out

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I think the Wii U Fight Pad Controller (by PDP) that GameStop sells for $25 is actually a Wii Classic Controller.

So is the Hori one but it is a better controller.

How is the hori battlepad?

Is the d-pad on it good? I have never encountered a third party controller with a decent d-pad. Is hori third party? Or are they making these directly for nintendo? I've never seen a third party controller use an official nintendo logo, like the luigi or mario before.

I haven't had a problem with the Hori controller.

I've not used the product in question, but Hori are a longtime, well-regarded 3rd party and they have made stuff under license by Nintendo like the Mario and Luigi-themed Wii Wheels, which I've found to be just as good as official Nintendo ones.
