I really like challenges in videogames, but it seems that when this game wants to get challenging, it just puts an enemy between two ledges or under a very low ceiling (mind you, I'm not criticizing the difficulty, just the lack of variety in challenges). For example, sometimes I really felt like it was time for some good falling platform sequence but no, the game is very linear about its obstacles.

Yeah, well, this game is a remake so they're doing it the same way it was done on the NES all those years ago.

As for the amount of enemies, it's not so much that there's a lot of enemies, it's just that they all respawn indefinitely, like in many NES games.

but no one really complained about the amount of enemies though.

quick question: what's the difference between normal mode and hard mode?! So far the only difference I can tell is that you don't have a map...

alright I figured it out meself. You don't have a map, don't have cakes that restore multiple hearts and don't have star coins that make you invincible (that were useless to begin with because they lasted like 2 seconds). On the other hand you can find more 1-ups, which ironically makes the hard mode as difficult as the normal mode.
The last level was good...wish all the stages in the game were like this. I think it's fair if people like it because it's a very attractive game, but if I could go back I wouldn't buy it again.

This game is only $12.99 for the retail version on capcoms website. What a steal!

As someone who never played the original is it really worth the purchase or is it mostly for nostalgia?

Its a ton of fun, I'd suggest starting on hard mode actually, I found it easier than normal mode :P

It's still my favorite eshop game. I really hope Capcom announces the next game soon.

The only word is that apparently Duck Tales Remastered outdid their expectations. Hopefully that means they're already working on it now.
