alright I figured it out meself. You don't have a map, don't have cakes that restore multiple hearts and don't have star coins that make you invincible (that were useless to begin with because they lasted like 2 seconds). On the other hand you can find more 1-ups, which ironically makes the hard mode as difficult as the normal mode.
The last level was good...wish all the stages in the game were like this. I think it's fair if people like it because it's a very attractive game, but if I could go back I wouldn't buy it again.

As someone who never played the original is it really worth the purchase or is it mostly for nostalgia?
Its a ton of fun, I'd suggest starting on hard mode actually, I found it easier than normal mode

It's still my favorite eshop game. I really hope Capcom announces the next game soon.

The only word is that apparently Duck Tales Remastered outdid their expectations. Hopefully that means they're already working on it now.
