So SEGA released Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 Part 2, SEGA Bass Fishing and Jet Set Radio on PSN/XBLA. Coming up next is a rumored Skies of Arcadia HD remake and a NiGHTS into Dreams HD remake. Anyone else hoping SEGA releases these games on the eShop? They wouldn't even have to do anything fancy with the Gamepad. Just have the game running on both screens if anything. Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Skies of Arcadia and Space Channel 5 are some of my favorite games, so I'm hoping SEGA will bring them to the eShop...

Well, to be honest the Sonic Adventure games ARE the GCN remakes, formatted in HD. So basically you ARE playing them.
The others are actual DREAMCAST games ported in HD.

I am for this. I loved the Dreamcast and it would be funny to see them emulating the old VMU screen on your gamepad. Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed got a Wii U version, so it is normal to expect that many new Wii U owners will be curious to go to the original games. Supposedly the eShop is welcoming and Sega could really use the money.
As I had a Dreamcast, I used to play Street Fighter III Third Strike and liked it a lot, but of course that is Capcom's decision if they want to port the new HD version to Wii U as well.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
The Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure would be nice to play on the pad.
But yes, I'm hoping Sega starts adding Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, and Dreamcast games to the Wii-U VC. There are a lot of gems in there.

With Skies of Arcadia, hopefully they would port the GCN version. I've wanted to play it, but the price is too high. There are some great Dreamcast games out there. (I'm currently playing Grandia 2 on it.)

I wish Sega would give us a real reason as to why they won't allow Shenmue 3 to be made. It's just so ridiculous. It's a niche title, but there are a lot of rabid fans who would do anything for it. IF Sega is just so against it, why won't they just sell the rights? It's really annoying to me that the most wished about game is probably never going to happen.
No argument here. The Dreamcast is such an underated system and has many games I would happily purchase again. Considering how Sega games seem to do well on Nintendo platforms, I'm sure Sega would do it if it's possible and Nintendo do indeed want DC games on the Wii U VC.
@Svengoolie Never say never. Japan only games like Sin and Punishment and Monster World IV have made their way over here, and Shenmue is a higher profile game than either of them.
Nintendo has a hard enough time getting NES games on eShop, let alone anything better.
The time Nintendo gets any other classic games on the eShop, we will all have grand kids by then.

Because the bloated budget for the Shenmue was one of the reasons Sega was in such a bad financial position that they bowed out of home consoles. If they made Shenmue III there are some people that would rush out and buy it, but not enough to justify the massive budget a game of that calibre today would merit. 'Everyone' would want it on a Wii U, PS3 and/or 360... but not enough people to make that release profitable for Sega.

Yeah, I know that it was a financial disaster, but that's because of the massive budget they had on it. It was so revolutionary at the time. Now, they could do the same game for much cheaper. Also they could go the Bethesda route and have the same person do a million voices to cut down on paying for actors. There's a lot they could to do produce a new game for a fraction of what they made the originals for.
SHENMUE ON 3DS! I would just flip. I bet the control scheme on 3DS would feel so comfortable

@Svengoolie yeah... but... you see, Sega's brand still exists, and every so often they push out the next Sonic that 'brings it back to its roots' but the Sega that made Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, and Skies of Arcadia is all but dead.
Every so often, it flares to life (i'm looking at you, Valkyria Chronicles!) but for the most part, Sega lost its balls along with it's home console business... besides, Yu Suzuki is basically AWOL.
As much as it saddens me, Shenmue is dead.
Long live, Shenmue...
Now, i need to go play a game of Lucky Hit and/or look for some sailors.
PS: don't forget they actually did try to keep Shenmue going by releasing Shenmue II on the OG Xbox... and that tanked miserably.
