I haven't seen the direct yet, but this is like having the Wii as a VC system. Can these be played on the game pad off TV?
If the game is compatible with the Classic Controller, you can play the game using the Gamepad.
Also, the Gamepad has a sensor bar built in, so you can control games that require the pointer using the Gamepad.
I believe it's exactly like having an actual physical copy of the game, but digital. So anything you can do in Wii Mode, you can do here, plus the added controller compatibilty.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
The only game I don't own is the Prime Trilogy, but I have all the original Prime games. Still interested to see what other Wii games they will be distributing via eShop.
Strange how they give us Galaxy 2 first and not 1!
They probably figured it was the best one to choose. it did get a perfect score on a lot of critic sites like IGN, gamespot, gamesradar, edge, and nearly flawless with everyone else.

So, have just downloaded and installed Galaxy 2. Runs nice and smoothly, loads existing save data. Just to clarify, obviously required nunchuck and wii remote to play. Nothing else to say really, other than I've just paid £8 for a game I already have on disc.
I summarise:
Mario Galaxy 2 : Original game has no Classic controller support -> No GamePad Controller support
Donkey Kong Country : Original game has no Classic controller support (WHY???) but single Wii-Remote-control-> Maybe GamePad Controller support (???)
Metroid Trilogy : I don't know if the Wii remakes allow a classic controller. I played the first two on the GameCube. But I hope, they have.
Well, at that price point I will be picking up some new games this month. Never played Super Mario Galaxy 2, only finished Metroid Prime 3 (and only played the first one on gamecube), and hopefully I will be able to purchase Skyward Sword. This is really good news since my gaming budget is almost non-existent right now due to other needs.
i'm buying all 3. Metroid, MG2, and punchout. I've played and finished 1, played a little of 2 and never played 3. Never played the MG series at all. I played punchout but it was my nephews copy so he took it with him =(. best 30 bucks I will ever spend.
