I'm sure this has been brought up before but I cannot find the thread at this time.

I am going to buy a Wii U and found one used that already has a few great games downloaded. If I buy it and set it up with my club Nintendo account will I be able to keep those downloaded games on the HD?

Since the games are tied to the console, I'm pretty sure you can keep them.

I think it also depends on if a Nintendo ID has been attached to the Wii U. If not, you can create a ID and have those downloadrd games... I think. If there is an account already I am not sure

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Once they allow NNIDs to be transferred, they will no longer be there, if the original owner decides to use their NNID, elsewhere. Until then, you can play them.

You can claim their ID, if you want. All you have to do is change the e-mail address to yours, change the password(which would require you to know the password they had), and change the address.

You're supposed to unlink your NNID, but since they left it, you can claim it as your own. It's technically not stealing. The only thing you can't do, is change the NNID name, but otherwise it's essentially yours. If you change the info, they won't be able to access it anymore, regardless.

Maybe I mixed up Wii U and 3DS ID stuff...

i was just making sure. because to my understanding wii u requires a nnid to use ehsop, unlike wii.

The games are tied to the NNID, if you keep the original id in the console and the original owner doesn't get a new WiiU, then you can play them as much as you like.

You can create your own NNID, just don't unlink the one with the games.
