It was recommended namedropped to me in the Creepy-but-not-scary thread, but no one followed up when I asked about it, and the review sounded like a game that could use some updates to get better. So...did it ever get better? If not, do you think its good enough to put up with its issues? Seriously, did anyone actually play this game?
I've completed Master Reboot and really liked it. There aren't any major issues left as the game has been updated a few weeks ago.
The atmosphere and story were great, the platforming was solid, the puzzling felt fresh and was balanced (some harder and some easier ones), and there's some exploration and replay value for additional plot hints.
The cel-shaded graphics have that cool noir or killer7-style, the music and soundeffects are pretty punchy and frightening.
And there's tons of variety in the many different locations... no cut and paste, so it doesn't get boring at all.
Even the poorly animated 2D cutscenes (in flashbacks, memories, etc.), while being odd at first, strangely add a second layer of style, because it was used for everything that happens outside of master reboots world.
I guess adventure fans would get a kick out of it, so if you liked creepy adventure games like The Cave or Stick It to The Man! and need something similar (but from a first person perspective) then you're in for a treat.
I thought the game was definately worth one complete playthrough and I recommended it in my review. 8/10.
I paln on getting it but with Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, Shantae, Bayonetta & Fantasy Life all coming/just released it's on the back bunner at the moment.

i enjoyed it. played through both endings. it's definately not scary but creepy i think. i personally love the art style but it's nit for everyone. i would watch a brief video first but not to much. you don't want to spoil it. length is about eight hours at normal speed.
@Midnafanboy Who am i? I'm certainly not faint don't know how you confuse me with him, we both have two different names and avatars. And the weird thing is i didn't even comment on this thread, don't know how my name popped up.You must be losing it friendo.
Oh, I played the PS3 version (and it doesn't seem like they're different). One or two jump scares probably startled me, but it's not very scary. My favorite part is probably attempting to piece together the story, but I've heard some people say it was somewhat tedious (along with some puzzles). I like the game overall, though.
I picked it up a few weeks back but haven't gotten to play it due to lack of time. I'm really excited to get into it.
