Anyone gotten this one yet?

There are some framerate issues and a disappointing lack of gamepad usage (it would be perfect for the game's various menus), but it's an absolutely adorable experience. In some ways it's a bite-sized Earthbound with modern cel-shaded graphics and a less Japanese / more American sense of humor.

I think I read that they are planning on adding off-screen play. Which is what Miiverse wanted from what I saw.

I bought it for Halloween but couldn't play it much so I'll just wait to beat Teslagrad or something before getting back to it because I have no reason to rush through it anymore. Fun and funny from what I played.

I thought I should mention this game is for HD tv only. Played this over the weekend on a CRT tv to show it some friends, and the screentext in this game is unreadable, especially on those halloween cards. No Off TV Play means eye cancer and skipping undecipherable textmash, or pause playing.

Also, the framerate in this game is very low, makes timing in combat very sluggish, and some animations skip.
And it has sound glitches, some of them very annoying.

The game itself is a funny adventure with a dumbhead dictator dentist and a bunch of kids rescuing candy and halloween timetravel story, mixed with RPG combat that tends to be repetitive at times but changes up often enough due to different costumes, enemies, cards.

Costume Quest 2 is also one of those sequels where the story is tied to the end of the first game directly. It feels all character development went into the first game, and part 2 puts those same characters into "just" a new crazy adventure. I haven't played the first game and so I'm not always sure if characters know each other from the first game. It doesn't stop me from playing though. CQ2 definately has its lol moments and own style and I want to complete it. I can understand they wanted to get it out in time for halloween, but I think on Wii U a more polished version is possible. The good people at Double Fine and Midnight City should really be working on an update and make it as enjoyable as it's supposed to be.
