As things are getting closer to a release I am getting a little nervous and a lot exited. Here is the official announcement trailer for Alius Insectum (narated by Tim Simmons). Some of the other games Tim has worked on include Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, Heroes of Newerth, Torchlight, Anything With An Engine, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Payday 2 and many more.

My main gripe is the lack of a direction with the art (the puppy is cute, though). The steam coming from the mug and the blood also need some work.
I suppose overall it just looks, for the lack of a better term, unpolished.
TBH, I'm not sure if you're looking for feedback on the main menu's concept or feedback on the 3D models/animation/etc.

IDK what I'm looking at TBH
The way the puppy was just playing on his own looked very unnatural looked like was playing with something but it's not there (maybe add a toy for it). IDK if I missed something but it looks like the dog just randomly exploded (maybe I have untrained eyes). Other than that pretty much what @Turnip-Forest said. Music has the creepy vibe to it, good job
EDIT: After a second look I think the floor underneath the couches looks too bright.

The feed back I am asking for is mostly on the concept as this is a ruff draft but all feed back on the models/animation/etc is appreciated as well!!
The pup is going to be playing with a ball and it rolls on the floor. Just didn't get it added in. THANKS about the just explodes... actually the puppy is eaten by baby bug alien things XD... I will make sure to light them up a bit.

Yes the steam does look off a bit needs to be moved to the left and made more transparent.
May I ask what part of the blood needs work... To much ... color ... texture? And Thank you.

@Prophet - I'm not familiar with textures/colors of blood, so I can't really give precise feedback, but it just does not look very blood-like. It may be the physics(?) of the blood spurts? The way it spurts out and the way it drips down the screen doesn't look very natural to me.
On top of that, the lighting for the blood is completely different than the lighting of the room; it's a fairly dark room, but the blood is bright and clearly visible.
Another thing is that the blackout is too sudden. I had to stop and replay the video to realize what was happening after around 0:24. To remedy this, I would add a few light flickers before the light completely blacks out.

All right I think I got it I am going to start the focus farther from the pup take a different approach to the lighting. Add a distant storm sound with slight wind. There will be a window in view and I will add animated curtains. Rework the pups animations. Add the ball or other toy in and work on the blood.

Saw the updated version it's better BTW. I just thought about blood stains, those couches need to get dirty. I think one of the problems with the blood is that it just randomly disappears into thin air. It kinda makes it look like old school Playstation/N64 blood.
I did notice the creatures this time around and that quick flash actually makes a lot more sense with the thunderstorm going on in the background (nice job).

maybe you could make the dog cry when it's attacked, that would make it a little more impacting.

Take 2 is definitely a lot better than the first attempt. The blood itself looks good now, but I don't like the way the blood just shoots out and disappears. The ball that the puppy plays with also needs to be lifted up a bit, because it looks like it's stuck inside the sofa. The puppy's animation needs some more work to make it look more smooth and alive. The puppy also needs a texture that looks like fur. The outside of the house needs some grass, because it looks like a wasteland out there. For how long have you been working on this? Have you worked on any other games before?

Thanks everyone. I am uploading take 3 right now and just finished building take 4. In Take 3 I am trying a different approach and am still looking for criticism. It is hard to look at it from outside the box.
I have been working on the main menu for 3 days.
I have worked on other games but nothing that has shipped. I wont push a game out that I make unless I can make it right.
I have been developing for about 2 years with unity3d. I know Unity gets a bad name but its not because the tool is lacking it is money grabbing developers taking shortcuts and not putting there heart in to.

I looked at Take 3 love it. Looks amazing also I love that detail you did with the waving curtain shadow. I see no problem with it.
As for the other video with the puppy's new look, well I think you had it right before because the puppy looks too bright now and he's not fitting in with the rest of the environment.

Your right! I watched the 2 videos side by side and although the pup is more detailed in"Puppy 2.0". He fits in much better with the scene in take 3.
