I got this game today when the eShop updated and played some single player and 3-player co-op. Really brilliant and unique game, with great use of the Gamepad. Using 1, 2 or 3 players are so seamlessly integrated. I wouldn't say that co-op is easier than single player, as some articles have suggested. It's just 2 different things. Highly recommended game.

Anyone else playing it?

Hopefully I'll be able to receive a review code for the game "I'm a reviewer at another website", but if not it's definitely high on my must-buy eshop games list.

How expansive is the game's world?

I am taking my time with this. The price is not so tempting, and as I have said before, I get bored of Nifflas games and never beat them, so I am afraid this one will be the same.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I agree normally, however their first Wii U eshop title was great and this one appears to be one of the best games in-terms of utilizing the Wii U gamepad according to reviews so I'd say the company is doing a better job as of late.

Im not even an hour into the game and I love it so far.(downloaded this morning.) Its quite pretty and relaxing with intuitive gamepad controls. This is the kind of quality third party software we Nintendo fans are looking for.

Playing this too! It's amazing in co-op, all three of us got really engaged in every little puzzle trying to find the best solution together. And we all burst out laughing when everything went haywire and we crashed and burned. The game is challenging but forgiving, so it encourages trial and error. Also has beautiful backgrounds, great sound and fine artwork that help create a really nice atmosphere. Best indie title I've played in ages.

It's a Nifflas&Knapnok collaboration. All Nifflas' past games have been budget indies AFAIK. This is a much more polished game, more than worth the cost of 1.5 amiibo. And it's without a doubt the best use of the Gamepad in any game yet.

IGN has posted a couple of co-op videos (with Jose Otero and Brian Altano) that explains the game quite well. The only thing is that they don't show the content of the Gamepad (which is crucial).

Me, the girlfriend and my sister's boyfriend all had a shot of this on Thursday. We had some hilarious moments like when we flew the ship into some lightning at the beginning and short circuited the ship. I love how each person has a distinct role. It's something the WIi U, with gamepad and all the different control schemes, could really do with more. Very happy with the purchase.

Nintendo Minute did a full video on ASA with lots of good info for those who don't yet know how the game works. (It also contains the chance to win a special ASA collectible.) It explains the Gamepad part better than the IGN videos.

Anybody know if you can add subtitles that are a different language than the spoken one for the cut scenes ?

Hi Sparx, Anchel from KnapNok Games here, the team that developed the game.
I can confirm to you that the game includes several languages for the menus, instructions and, yes, subtitles for the videos as well.
They come in English (with separate US and UK versions), French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese (also Brazilian Portuguese).

That's great! Especially since the third player I wanted to play with doesn't understand english too well so this'll get them to join in

This game looks so boring and they're shoving it down our throats over at Nintendo. It's almost like they just pick a random indie game and promote the hell out of it until it comes out then it's just there getting trashed or ignored on.

I bought it release week, but I've got so many games going on I'm going to wait for a quiet moment and see if my partner will try it out with me.

In EDGE #280, Affordable Space Adventures apparently got a considerably higher score than Codename S.T.E.A.M. Haven't played Codename S.T.E.A.M. myself, but ASA is a really great game.

I bought ASA today to play it with a few friends and had a lot of fun with it (it was a nice segue from a co-op scifi boardgame). We stopped after reaching level 22, but I can tell that I'm a bit bothered that there doesn't seem to be any optional exploration puzzles, even though this is supposedly an exploration game. The extra things found could've been, for instance, other Small Craft(TM) wrecks or UExplore promotional materials.

Yesterday I played the game with a friend and got promptly stuck in a position. This was not long after the safety personnel cutscene and involved a red block. Any advice on how to get past it? I'm describing the situation in the spoiler tags better. Chapter 20+ something, I think.

We had got the heat ventilation something system and had gone through a furnace and a long fall with turret mines and laser barriers. We entered a new area and had to piggyback a ride to the left on a platform moving under an artifact. Below the platform and the beam it was moving on was a red block we could move. Further to the left there are two vertical lasers shooting from the bottom to the top. The area listed from bottom to up: empty horizontal space, a pair of blocks and the craft can fly through one, two laser emitters pointing up, second horizontal space split by the said lasers, another obstacle block, third horizontal space split by the said lasers. The third space is probably where we were supposed to go through, but the red block can block only one of the lasers.

This game turned out to be more fun than I expected. I'm glad I got it.
