So, today it was announced that Yoshi (the nes puzzle game) will be the next game for 30 cents, and the sale is starting June 13th. What do you think about the sale and will you get the game when its 30 cents? I personally will most likely get it. What about you guys?
Well, it's worth 30 cents, but as others have said, it doesn't have a lot going for it. It's just too simple, too easy, and rough around the edges. Suffice to say, Nintendo has a lot better puzzlers they could have used instead, but someone at Nintendo evidently likes it enough that they keep releasing it. Problems aside, I'd still recommend it for 8 minutes of fun at 30 cents.

Yeah I agree there are quite a few great other puzzle games they could of used but they chose this one. I might get it just for the nostalgia.

I remember renting this game as a kid from a local grocery store. I think my mom played it more than me during that rental period lol. Its an ok game but honestly there are better puzzlers out there like Tetris or Dr Mario but for 30 cents I would pick it up.

This was one of the first games I got for my Gameboy when I was a kid so there's lots of nostalgia for me. So it's an easy decision for me... and if you're unsure here's some decision music for you:

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
I also wonder, why Yoshi? I don't think it's nearly as significant as the other games that have been chosen.
(I know the last one, Donkey Kong for NES, obviously is significant as the first console game Nintendo ever made.)
Ah, I remember this game from back in the Game Boy days. Bit of a mediocre puzzle game to be honest though, and I can say right now that I wouldn't consider it even worth 30 cents these days.
I think the reason this game is being released as one of the 30 cent VC titles is because they wanted to feature a lot from Nintendo Land so people could get to know these franchises more. Think about it: Donkey Kong, Punch Out, Yoshi, F-Zero, Balloon Fight, Super Metroid and Yoshi were all featured and were all games in Nintendo Land.
Of course, the game isn't very good.. I found it for NES for about $5 a few months ago, and grabbed it for that price and was pretty disappointed, never bothered playing it on the 3DS when I got it as an Ambassador Title. I'll buy this on here so I can improve my VC library, get some Club Nintendo coins, and so if I ever want to play it I can.
Looking for some 3DS and Wii U friends. PM me if interested!

Nice theory but they included Kirby and Punch Out!! instead of Mario, Zelda and "The Mysterious Murasame Castle" and in Japan they had different games again including Earthbound. More likely they're releasing these games because they feel that these are games they think are underappreciated. Or maybe they're some sort of internal milestone at the company.
Think about it. Balloon Fight was one of the first games that Iwata worked on, F-Zero was a launch title for the SNES and the first game to push Mode-7, Punch Out is from their arcade era, Kirby was Sakurai's first game, Super Metroid defined a genre, Yoshi was the first game by Game Freak and Donkey Kong was the game that started it all. That said some of those reasons are pretty flimsy, you could make the same argument for quite a few games. Unless I'm missing something they could have easily swapped Metroid for any other big SNES title and the same would be true.

Mario&Yoshi is quite good for a puzzle game. It's no Tetris, Dr. Mario, Wario's Woods, Wrecking Crew, Puzzle League, or Picross, but it's still among my favourite puzzlers from the early 90ies era. It's rather simple and on the easy side, however it's unique and I found it quite addicting and 2P-mode was a blast back then too.
