Topic: With M2 handling the GBA VC games, World-e on Super Mario Advance 4 is more likely to happen

M2 is known for going the extra mile when bringing the classics to new hardware, and with M2 handling the GBA VC games instead of Nintendo themselves, I think that it's likely when Super Mario Advance 4 hits the Wii U VC, they'll have all of the World-e levels accessible no matter if they'll be unlocked from the beginning or if they'll simulate scanning the e-Reader cards.

I would like to believe that, but I still somehow doubt it.

It's not like I'll buy it, though.

Yoshi's Island would like to speak with you.

You can't get Yoshi's Island Snes on the VC.

Oh my goodness, you're right. It's never been released on the VC, I just now realized that. Why is that?

I think they have difficulty emulating the Super FX 1/2 chip.

Ah. And that's why Starfox has never seen the VC. Truly a shame, the original Yoshi's Island was superior to the GBA version.

Well, Japan got SMA3 (or whichever is Super Mario World) so there is precedent for it.

I think you're skipping a few steps here. This is awfully optimistic

Super Mario Advance 2 is Super Mario World

As to Super Mario All-Stars, if it gets released at all on WiiU VC it would probably be like $30 because that's what the Wii disc version was (officially) priced at.

I doubt any extra effort will be put in to any of the releases. Judging by Nintendo's past efforts with the VC service I would be very surprised if they did.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Bonus levels, portability, and an extra minigame? Not much competition there in my eyes.

It's not impossible since the Wii U eShop has the ability to discount the price for singular NNID accounts that have other data on their system (like with owning the Wii VC version of a game that's on the Wii U VC as one example), so they could make it so you get a discount on the price for All-Stars if you own the seperate NES versions of the games. If Genesis/MD and arcade games came to the Wii U VC, it'd be the same case for Mega Man: Wily Wars and Namco Classic Collection Volume 1 & Volume 2.

Bonus levels: Ok, I'll give you that one, the six extra levels were nice.

Portability: Same.

Extra Minigame: Are you talking about Mario Bros.? The same game tacked onto all the other games in the Advance series and Superstar Saga? Ok, fine, the SNES version didn't have it, but that game isn't that big of a deal.

But, the GBA does suffer from lackluster sound and visuals, not to mention that they made it easier by lengthening the countdown when you get hit. Also, it takes forever to get to the Pause screen (ok, maybe that last one was just something that irked me )

Regardless, I'd take extra levels over "superior sound and graphix"

No kidding. I find Yoshi's groaning floating sound from Yoshi's Story and on equally as annoying as Mario's whining.

The GBA aspect ratio actually is 4:3 (240x160 resolution, compared to the 10:9 AR on the GB/GBC, 160x144) while the SNES is nearly square (256x224 standard NTSC resolution, 256x240 PAL).

Also, did they even adjust the levels to account for lower resolution on the GBA? 1-E gives you almost no reaction time. Especially that one part after the Bullet Bill hop. Please be under me, Poochie, please be under me!

I'd take choice between two versions instead of being stuck with only one.

Hard to imagine them ever doing such a thing when prices have been a constant at $8 except for imports priced at $9.

Earthbound costs $10, so it's not constant. If Super Mario All-Stars did come to the Wii U VC it would definitely cost more than $8.
