I have a question about transferring VC games I download to my Wii (which is now my 'Wii channel' on my Wii U) to my actual Wii U.
I heard this is possible, but I have two questions I can't seem to find the answer to.
1. What is the 'charge' that they will put on us for transferring these from the Wii menu to the Wii U menu?
2. Can I transfer any of the games over, or do i have to wait for Nintendo to release the same game on their on Wii U channel? If that's the case, I personally think that sucks. I really don't want to play this waiting game for this VC games all over again. I mean it took them several years just to release Smash Bros 64. I'd really like to be able to play these on the gamepad (and with save states) as soon as the VC is opened up on the WIi U.

There is a free data transfer tool to download (BOTH ON THE WII AND THE WII U)followed by some fairly easy steps in order to transfer the VC games to your Wii U.
Once they are transferred you can play the VC games out of your Wii Channel on the Wii U. They work the same as they did on the old console. The games being re released in the Wii U virtual console are updated to play "off tv on the gamepad", create restore/save points and mii verse communities. Other than that the games are exactly the same. If you are interested in the added bells & whistles the cost (in North America) to re purchase NES = $1.00 / SNES = $1.50. Hope this helps.
It is aggravating to me honestly that we will have to wait for full life span of the Wii U to get some of the games updated (I've been wanting to do a Link to The Past with my gamepad while my wife is still able to use the TV honestly more then anything), but at least I have an answer.

You can transfer every game, with the exception of WiiWare's LostWinds.
oh. Maybe I read into it wrong. So I should be able to transfer any of my VC games on my Wii Menu, over to my Wii U so I can use the gamepad and Save states?

So I should be able to transfer any of my VC games on my Wii Menu, over to my Wii U so I can use the gamepad and Save states?
Think of it as there is a Wii inside your Wii U and to access your Wii content your Wii U needs to switch/turn into a Wii. You have to wait until Nintendo and other companies have emulated the VC games to run on the Wii U. You cannot transfer over Wii VC games to play in "Wii U mode,"

Yes u can tranfer your games from your original wii to your wiiu. When the vc comes out for the wiiu that isnt the wii vc. Anyway you need an sd card, two wii remotes ans both the wii and wiuu connected to the internet. you then must download the wii/wiiu tranfer tool. its on the wii shop and then on the wiiu shop. have both systems on start with wiiu and have sd card in it start transfe tool . then put sd card in wii start the tool and then back to wiiu. Pikmans do the tranfer in a cool backdrop. It will tranfer you wii points too.I transfered mario 64 zelda kirby and many more.
Yeah, I do have all my old Wii data on my Wii U in the 'Wii Menu' (wow that's confusing).
I guess to do what I'm wanting to do, I'm going to have to wait until Nintendo releases A Link to The Past on the 'Wii U VC'

Actually u don't need 2 Wiimotes. I only just switched the colored cables from my tv to the family rooms tv. Then switched, I sure just don't understand why they don't make an app that can simply transfer over all Wii vc games over to the Wii U menu and have a built-in additional software update that provides Miiverse support, off TV play and saves.

We obviously haven't given them enough money yet... I've given Nintendo nearly $1000 worth of Virtual Console game and they feel they have the right to try and suck another $150 out of me to simply slap on an emulator save state and a message board? Emulating isn't that hard. Especially since Nintendo made the consoles themselves. This is the ONLY reason I haven't bought a Wii U. I want to keep all of my games on a central console, even if it is inferior.
Yeah seriously, I'm still waiting for the app that transfers my $1,000's of dollars of NES, SNES, and GB/C/A carts to my Wii U for my convenience. I mean come on, I paid for the games once to play on a certain machine and now they have the audacity to charge me again to play on a different machine? Nintendo sucks. Rawr!

its like roughly 1$ to add the other features, the games will be distributed gradually, so at least its not like they will all be added all at once if you get what i mean

I don't know what the complaint is unless you happened to be one of those people who snagged that "All/NES VC games for free" promo by setting up multiple Wiis. If you're that into classic games that you've literally spent thousands on the VC then I'm pretty damn sure the extra features are worth it. If they aren't then copy the games over, ignore the updates and play it on the Wii portion of your console. It still looks better and that doesn't cost anything.
Nobody is forcing you to do anything.
