What do you call them and what games do you keep in there?

Mario, DK & Wario
Legend of Zelda
Street Fighter (also includes Final Fight)
Mega Man
Fire Emblem
Castlevania
Kirby
Metroid
Earthbound
NES
Super Nintendo
Game Boy Advance
Nintendo DS
Wii U
Contra
F-Zero
Pinball
Ghosts N Goblins
Punch Out!
Pac-Man
System Apps

I make folders for games from series on multiple systems. If two games from the same series are from the same system, then they stay in that systems folder instead of getting their own folder. Games within each folder are lined up by system release date. So NES games first, then Super Nintendo and so on. Games on the same system are placed according to quality and grouped by series. The Donkey Kong Country trilogy are grouped together in order of release for example (1, 2, 3).

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I have 8 folders on the main page.

NIntendo: All internally developed games. Mario Maker will be the next game to go here.
Type One: All games published by Nintendo, but not internally developed, as well as some more "Nintendo-y" fare like Sonic and LEGO games. Fatal Frame will be the next game to go here.
Type Two: The less "Nintendo-y" 3rd parties. Generally multiplats like Assassin's Creed, Batman, etc... companies kinda stopped publishing games on Wii U that would go here, so I dunno, maybe I'll put Devil's Third here if I end up buying it. Seems like it would belong there, beside Ninja Gaiden 3.

And then separate folders for Indies, NES, SNES, and GBA. All the Mii Maker, Settings, Wii Menu, that kind of stuff in another folder off to the side. Then the streaming apps, Netflix, Crunchyroll, and YouTube along the bottom, but those aren't in folders.

I'm not categorizing games on my WiiU too much, so I just have five folders in total:

  • Retail Downloads (exactly what it says on the tin)
  • Demos (see above)
  • Download Games (contains every game that was released as a download-exclusive, even when the game gets a late retail go, like Shovel Knight)
  • VC (includes Wii download games)
  • Tools (everything that isn't a game)

I also have a sixth folder all the way in the corner of the last page, but that one only contains the health and security advisory.

NES

GBA
N64
Mega Man

All pretty self explanatory (though I think a "Castlevania" folder is probably due at this point).

I don't have enough stuff downloaded to warrant folders yet. For now, it's just all laid out before me in the order I purchased it...

Though I do have nearly 3 pages of stuff.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon

I pro...

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Not many. My Wii U is brand new so the only folders I have are for drmos and misc. junk I don't want to look at every day.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Yes.

I have one folder for each console (NES, SNES, N64 etc.)
Also put all the useless stuff like daily log and parental info in a folder to get it out of the way.

I used to have 3 folders titled Tools, Media and Software & eShop. I put utilities such as Settings and Mii Maker in Tools, multimedia apps such as Netflix and YouTube in Media, and games and stuff that I downloaded from the eShop, arranged in order of the generation the game originally debuted in.
But we switch flash drives, which means that the software keep getting out of the folder, and I can't just continue to put them back all the time...

"Boring Crap", it's the only folder I have on there...it's just stuff on the system you can't remove that no one cares about. So I just put them in there. xD
