@VanillaLake: Its not that hard to understand. They want good games for release in 2016 and 2017. Releasing a lot of good games right now may be good for us but it will kill the VC service if all they have left to release are crappy games.
@VanillaLake: The NX won't be released any time soon. Its likely not to be announced until E3 next year even. Giving Nintendo plenty of time to release more VC games. I would expect that the Wii U will continue alongside the NX instead of being replaced by it. Anyway, we are getting a steady stream of VC games, in Europe and Japan at least anyway.
I am surprised that they haven't yet, especially since they released the 3DS remaster.
Actually, this may actually be why they haven't brought it over yet. I'm figuring they're thinking "We have a 3DS remaster, why not get that instead?", even though SF643D is hardly even worth $20, let alone $40
Then again, that argument doesn't hold much water considering they have both OoT 3D out and released to original on the Wii U....and some Wii U owners probably don't own a 3DS
They've been riding the SF64 train for a while now so I don't think it'll be long before we see the original game on the Wii U(I mean they already have freaking Command)
@Bass_X0: Not sure, I don't see much support for the Wii U, let alone when the NX is released.
@Megas75: Interesting thinking. I've always been interested in the 3DS remaster, but the price for such an old and short game is too high, specially since I've already spent €10 on the Wii version. Nintendo needs to accept cross-buy but not they way they see it which is charging a double price. Look at Mario Vs. DK Tipping Stars, which is twice as expensive as recent Mario Vs. DK games. Nintendo is always trying to suck the last penny from its fans for the same games and, naturally, the fans get tired of it eventually. Nintendo needs to be more generous with their fans because both Sony and Microsoft are being tremendously generous releasing HD collections, cross-buy at the right price, etc. Nintendo still sells NES games for €5 each without any improvement at all (ouch!), and all their HD/3D releases are sold separately at a premium price: The Wind Waker HD, Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora's Mask 3D, Starfox 64 3D... They are evidently greedy charging a higher price for some old untouched games for the sole reason that they were not released outside Japan before, even though the digital distribution costs them very little money.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

Is there any place where upcoming N64 releases are shown? I'd honestly be shocked (and fairly disappointed) if they didn't have SF64 on the list for the relatively near future.
Nintendo Life will inform us of known upcoming N64 games on the front page as soon as the details become available. Checking Europe's announced games for that week on Mondays also helps since sometimes America and Europe get the same game on the same day. But not often.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
The 3DS version doesn't matter. Nintendo should keep releasing VC games even if a better version exists on a newer console. I'd also want and would download Majora's Mask on Wii U despite already owning the 3DS version. I already downloaded Majora's Mask and Star Fox 64 on the original Wii, so both will be very cheap for me to port over to Wii U.
