I have been wanting it for awhile and it looks fun! I have never played through zelda game so i would like to start with a 2D one and link to the past seemed to be a good fit. What do you guys think, should i get it?
Sure, it's my personal favorite Zelda game. I would highly recommend it!
I would, however, also recommend you to try one of the three-dimensional Zelda games even if you happen to dislike ALTTP. The 2D & 3D Zelda are/feel quite different IMO.

After I am done with ALTTO I wanna try Wind Waker.
Yes, it's one of the easier Zelda games to get into (I don't know if I would say it's the best of the 2D entries, but it's definitely one of the better games to start with).

Yeah why not. It's slightly harder than other 2D Zeldas because many enemies do a lot of damage and the sword is wonky and short. But it should be no problem, it's still a great game.
Spiderman's right, we should all play ALTTP! Personally, it's my favorite 2D Zelda, and not a bad start (it's where I started). It can be a little challenging, but not horrible by any means.
And the 3D Zeldas are all a little different, and fans will fight to no end over which is "best", so I'd say go with your gut because everyone is vocal (and sometimes stupid) in giving THEIR favorite without thinking what you might like.
It's objectively one of the best Zelda games ever made, and one of my personal favorites. I cannot recommend it enough.
As a heads up though, it's quite a bit more challenging than any Zelda game since Ocarina of Time. The series has been markedly easier since Eiji Aonuma took over.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
let's see..... Terrible difficulty spikes, stair animations that freeze the entire game. pink hair, even more difficulty spikes, framerate drops when you hold a spin attack with 2-3 enemies onscreen, the fact that everyone who played it as a kid has an overwhelming sense of nostalgia greater than FF VII fans, and the fact that the game is NOT nonlinear while everyone says it is.
If you like Zelda you have to have played this before you die. It's pretty much what the series is today but in a beautiful 16-Bit package. It has one of the best learning curves of the series and starts in the action without a boring tutorial. The plot will seem slightly familiar but is probably my joint favourite with Ocarina. If they remade this game exactly the same but rendered in 3D I would buy it instantly.
I would say it is easier than Majora's Mask but harder than the average 3D Zelda. It's doesn't punish you too much but the enemies can kill you fairly easily.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

I don't think too many people will agree with Maelstrom
I'm not brilliant at games, I rarely finished NES and SNES games in my youth but this game was fairly easy to beat by SNES standards. The only difficulty spikes I can think of are bosses and puzzles but isn't that the point of bosses and puzzles.
There's very little slowdown. I don't remember any apart from when moving between two different screens.
I have never had it freeze or crash on SNES, Wii or Wii U
It is a linear story but you are free to explore lots of map, there's loads of secrets and there are a couple of optional quests.

But both Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid and Earthbound (so far) have had a constant increase in difficulty, as opposed to, say, Mothula.
Oddly enough, I found those games easier and to have aged better. (IMO)
