I received Wii U last Christmas and I am surprised to see that some of the games I was planning on buying has slightly increased in price. I want to check out some of these classic games like Zelda, Mario and Earthbound but I am hesitating because of the prices. Sure it's not much when compered to everyday expenses, but being a PC gamer you get used to things like regular steam sales and the humble bundle. Are there ever any sales on these games?

There were a lot of sales on those big Nintendo games before Smash came out. Sales don't occur on the big titles often, mainly the smaller ones.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

My friend, this is why PC gaming remains the number one option. Unfortunately no, Virtual Console titles barely ever go on sale. It's funny looking in, because at certain times of the year Skyrim on PC costs the same as Super Mario Bros. for the NES...and by funny I mean really depressing. Get your store together Nintendo.

Don´t forget to check Wii mode, there is another hidden eshop. It is right, the Wii U has 2 eshops with different games each one and some in common.

They have occasional sales, but even then, the discounts are nowhere near what you see on PSN and XBLA. 25-30% is about as good as it gets.

I am guessing they will probably have a bigger sale around E3.

Nintendo are notorious for not having decent sales on any of their VC games. They've come a bit further since the days of Wiiware, but not enough in my opinion. If you're looking for a specific game to drop in price, you'll be waiting a while for sure.

You need to check weekly which companies have discounts, they are almost the same always. So you can choose wisely if you buy now or later with this data.
