Oh, and before you throw out the "but it's not rare" argument, there will only be...400 available downloads! And then Gamestop will buy back your 3DS with Mother 3 for $120 and then sell those "Vintage 3DS with Mother 3" for $400! It's a win-win for everyone!!

If @ogo79 is anything like me, then he is enjoying his complete copy (multiple in ogo's case) of Earthbound valued at $450 right now. At any time we could put them up on eBay for real cash money.

ive contacted nintendo about this. ive got a whole list of rare games they can add on the rare downloads program.
as the price for physical carts goes up they can raise the price on virtual console games.
Have you heard back from Nintendo? I hope they agree with you.

This is exactly why Nintendo needs to make these games much more expensive. To extend the rarity. In fact, they should make the VC Downloads a couple $100 extra so that the download becomes more collectible than the cartridges.
