Since rare's DK64 is releasing i'd love to see Perfect Dark and Conker on the eshop.
Those are Rare games, not Nintendo games.
Nintendo owns Donkey Kong 64, although I'm sure that they needed to secure an agreement with Rareware for their logo, Jetpac, and so on.
What will be interesting to see is if Diddy Kong Racing appears here, since it includes at least two Rareware characters (Banjo and Conker). I suspect securing permission for that bit of Rare's IP isn't going to be as easy as what must've went on behind the scenes for Donkey Kong 64.
Hopefully for the sake of the fans, something happens and they don't just resort to releasing the DS port instead.
Would love Rogue Quadron to make it VC. But I would settle with all the Wii VC and Pilot Wings 64. It would be good if they also release DD games. I think this gave F Zero a track editor, can't remember, can't be bothered to look it up
In regards to the N64 virtual console, my hopes lie towards either games that I never got the chance to play but wanted to:
Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon,
Mischief Makers
An games that I had borrowed or got to play through friends and enjoyed, but never owned the game myself:
Castelvania
Bomberman 64
Yoshi's Story.
I'll have to give a good look at all the N64 games there are. I'm bound to come across some that never came to the UK that I'd probably love to try out.
Banjo and Conker were removed for the DS version. We could see that but not the N64 version.
I agree, especially as we've already seen licensing affect VC choices (e.g. GBA Yoshi's Island over SNES Yoshi's Island)
I still don't miss the hope we'll see the original SNES Yoshi's Island one thay in the Virtual Console, GBA is really nice but the original is the game as it was meant to be.
Almost Certain: All 21 Wii N64 VC titles re-issued, M64 and PM are excellent starters especially PM. Likely to unlikely: Select third party games that didn't release on the Wii VC, vague i know but hey just saying I'd like to see some ya know? Unlikely to not happening: the other Rare games outside of DK64.
"Worked with Nintendo on Rare's IP before, no issues." Its possible. your not happening might work if we talked about Nintendo modernizing but hey, wait and see when it comes to VC.
I have no idea what kind of licensing nightmare it might be at this point, but the only N64 game I really want to see hit the VC is Shadows of the Empire.
I'd "upgrade" Ocarina of Time and Mario Kart 64 too, if they ever release 'em. But if they don't, eh, no big deal.
It'd be great if they put Mario Golf on the VC. I love Toadstool Tour, and it'd be nice to play an older one. I think it's on the Wii Shop, so maybe it'll make it.

Movie, comic or cartoon licensed series in general are unlikely too. Also the wrestling games like WWF.
Also, its a little cheaper to download N64 games on Wii mode then pay the upgrade than to download them on Wii U if they are on both.

Ignoring the fact that they could cooperate to make it possible, as shown today in the NintendoLife news channel by a statement from the head of Microsoft's gaming division, or that Nintendo could do some editing work with the vastly superior N64 original to bypass any issues (Which contrary to portrayals around here, has happened with some past 1st party Virtual Console releases like the completely overhauled password system in Kid Icarus).
Like I said, instead of the nonsensical concern that the recreation of the arcade Donkey Kong here has been edited out, what happens with something like this will be far more interesting as things unfold.

That has nothing to do with licenses. They simply haven't emulated the Super FX chip. There's no roadblock there since all Super FX patents have now expired due to the passage of time and are in the public domain.
And even if there were still active patents, which is impossible at this point in time, it still ignores the fact that it's mere speculation. If this was ever even an issue, Nintendo surely would've acquired any outstanding patent rights when Argonaut Games folded on the eve of the Nintendo Wii and the launch of the first Virtual Console, in order to clear the way for this to potentially happen in the future.
And with the excellent GBA conversion of Yoshi's Island (that included the addition of several new levels) already out thanks to the VC's GBA section, it's not surprising that they haven't made that investment today on the Wii U. Left after this big classic for Nintendo owned IP is Star Fox and Stunt Race FX, two titles that many have viewed as not having aged gracefully, and the unreleased but largely finished Star Fox 2 that likely would stay that way even if Super FX emulation happened tomorrow.
Their library of potential release candidates isn't exactly full of Super FX classics that gamers are clamoring for on the Virtual Console, although I'd personally love to see all three (The original Star Fox in particular remains a favorite of mine).
Honestly wished there was a way to contact Nintendo about N64 game suggestions, apparently Microsoft would be fine with working with Nintendo about Rare IPs. Would love to see (and finally play) the Banjo games on VC, not to mention Jet Force Gemini. Another small N64 game that I loved (well, I had the PC one, lol) was Episode I: Racer.
