I would buy it but I already have two physical copies.
But why play an old GBA or the original DS when you can play them on Wii U? Super Circuit is the only Mario Kart game that save states should be used given the hard requirements to unlock the SNES courses.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
I wanna see how it looks when its color corrected. I never had someone to play with, so im not bothered by the lack of multiplayer, but it would have been cool.
I already had my 'fun' trying to 3 star all the cups. Poured like over 300+ hrs in total for the GBA cart.
Seriously, I dare anyone to try to 3 star the extra lighting cup

I will. I use to have it on the GBA before it was stolen which led me to hating Gamestop which is a story for another day. I miss it alot as I remember I use to play it alot on the GBA. Alot of people didn't like this game which I don't understand why but to each their own.

Its because the controls are hard to get used, but drifting is the key. Most of the people today are spoiled by the sluggish easy controls of modern mario karts. Dunno about back then, but the controls for MK64 were right on the spot, so maybe when this game came out, it changed peoples experience in controls when playing MK64.
Yeah, I know. I have tried over 100 times in all CC and I can only get 2 stars.
I think I need to know how to do those easy mini turbos on linear road, to increase the score. I think its the only way to compensate for being forced to drive through 'offroad'

The controls are hard to get used to, yes. And the courses are very flat. Which is why I want them to return in Retro Cups so we can get to play the GBA courses properly.

Too bad that the workload of their GBA emulator apparently is too much for the Wii U to run at least a second instance of it simultaneously. Splitscreen multiplayer (Or using the gamepad screen for a 2nd display) to enable at least two player multiplayer for GBA games would've been nice to see.
I'm sure M2 would've implemented it had it been that easy. That's just the price you pay for accurate emulation. M2 has clearly done a top notch job and that takes a lot of resources to get as close to 100% accuracy as they've accomplished.
Is there any chance that there is functional multiplayer in the Wii U version? Because that would defs make it worth buying.
EDIT: NEVERMIND, just checked, only 1 player. Bleeeeeeeeh.
Apparently hackers are boasting that they've managed to emulate the GBA Link Cable for Wii U VC games. I don't condone hacking, but if bedroom hackers can emulate the GBA Link Cable then why can't Nintendo do the same thing? The source was Nintendo Everything, but the article has since been taken down.
I think it's ridiculous that Nintendo is charging full price for this game when multiplayer and other things are locked. You might as well just get the actual GBA cart, it's better that way. I bought the GBA cart way before the Wii U VC even had GBA games and before they even announced it.
Its not locked. Its just not supported. The one player game is what people are buying this for anyway, not the multiplayer even if it was included. Fans of multiplayer would stick to Mario Kart 8.
I never had a second MK:SC cartridge back in the day nor anyone to play with, so the VC release will be exactly like it was back then for me. And I still enjoyed it.
I'm sure that plenty of people would've taken advantage of multiplayer if it could all take place on a single Wii U. On the other hand, if linking multiple Wii U's together was necessary, I'm sure few would've ever done so. So LAN capabilities simply weren't worth the bother to implement, test, debug, etc.
Four player splitscreen Mario Kart Super Circuit on the other hand with the Wii U handling four instances of the emulator running simultaneously would've been a glorious thing to see.
But since that isn't the case, I'm glad this one is still here at least. It's a fine single player game that was hardly multiplayer only. And for many folks, it's the only way they ever experienced it anyways. Would've been a shame to see Nintendo keep it back simply because the multiplayer features can't be enjoyed.
