Rumor has it that Super Castlevania IV will be hitting the Japanese Wii U VC this week. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Konami has done absolutely nothing for the Wii U at this point, right? So, this could mean we'll finally start getting Konami games. That's great. Right?
I wouldn't say so much as Konami is supporting the Wii U VC just because of one title. Its Super Castlevania anyway if anything they are just putting it out for the Castlevania fans. When I see other Konami games like Contra, Jackal, Gradius came to the Wii U VC than I will say they are supporting the Wii U VC.

Okay, well, still, this is the first game Konami has put on the Wii U. It's something. It may not be much, but it's more than the nothing that they have been providing for the past year. I think, at the very least, this means they'll be putting games on the Wii U's VC, which, again, is more than they've done yet.
That is true. Hopefully it will be a start. Still makes me wonder though why every Castlevania game from the NES and SNES and heck even TurboGrafx has come out but we have never seen Bloodlines.

You're right that Konami has done absolutely nothing for the Wii U before now, though not only that it's not a rumor that Japan's getting Super Castlevania IV next week, but they also got the Famicom version of Twinbee and Legend of the Mystical Ninja last week.

Well.. I like this.. and one would hope that maybe this will make it to the west.. and hopefully Konami will start making retail games for the Wii U... I think Metal Gear Solid or a spinoff.. (Something new.. not another remake.. though even remakes would be interesting) would be very good on the U... with the gamepad and what not.. still VC stuff is a good start.. and is better than nothing ..

Well, Konami games (Gradius, Super C,Castlevania) have been ported over to 3DS, so i'm pretty sure they won't ignore Wii U.
Eh, there's a difference between 3DS and Wii U. That difference being how much money they make. I'm sure that's why Konami has been supporting 3DS, but not Wii U. But, again, it looks like Konami is starting to support the Wii U and I welcome that.
I would also like to know why. I mean, I do like Super C, but I didn't have Super C when I was a kid. I don't think my parents knew that it was a Contra game, so they didn't get it. But, anyway, I have more nostalgia for the original and I would very much like to have the original.

I would also like it if Konami started releasing retail games for the Wii U, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, especially considering that Mirror of Fate HD is not hitting the Wii U.
They can't add Bloodlines until the Genesis gets put back up on the VC. Which I hope happens sooner than later.

You can get the NES Contra in Contra 4 for the DS.
You should just get Contra 4 in general, it's excellent.
But if you want to play multiplayer, it doesn't give the option. There's no good reason to not have the NES version of Contra on the VC.

Even though they are releasing VC titles in Japan, it doesn't mean they'll come to other regions. Japan got FFVI and Secret of Mana months ago on Wii U (two Wii U VC games I want badly), and they have yet to bring them over to NA.
