I forgot what a wonderful soundtrack this game had. I love every single song in this game and it just makes me so happy

The default button configuration on Gamepad for this game is horrible. I'm so glad the Wii U offers a button configuration system for VC games. It was the first time I tested configurating the buttons, and damn, that system is fantastic. It's nice how it shows the "connection" between a NES controller and the Gamepad.

Is it like DKC on Wii VC with GCN controller bad? Because I'm still not sure how I got used to THOSE controls.

I don't know about that. I never got DKC on Wii VC. I recall it was pretty hard to play Super Mario World with GCN controller, so perhaps DKC was difficult in the same way. Of course SNES games a bit more confusing as there are more buttons to use compared to NES buttons, so I don't think the buttons on Kirby can be compared to DKC too well.

Anyway, the default controls have Kirby jumping with X and A, and using items with Y and B.
So it's basically impossible to use both buttons with the same thumb without moving it awkwardly over the buttons.

I changed it to be A&B=jump and Y&X=action. That way I can keep my thumb all the time on the action button and still jump without moving my thumb at all - in the good old Super Mario way!

Well... I guess it's not exactly impossible to use the buttons like that but it certainly isn't as convenient as it is with the way I configured them.

I bought this game again even though I have this game already in every form except for the GBA remake. Thirty cents is a freaking steal. Even though Kirby's Adventure is probably the most re-released Nintendo game in history, there's a very good reason on why that's the case.

Nah, I think Mario Bros. has been released more times just in GBA Mario titles.

Not to mention SMB, which has had the original, an arcade version (that exists btw), the All Stars remake (and the Wii re-release of that), SMBDX, and 2 VC releases.

that's probably because the only long NES games are long because either
A. They are relentlessly difficult and you will die. A lot. or
B. They are a JRPG where you spend a minimal of half the game grinding

After all these years I'm still getting 5's at the end of these levels.
But I'm still a beast at the crane game

I was confused why I was getting 3's — went back and played the GBA remake and was getting 1's again. Pretty sure it's the lag screwing up the timing, so try pressing A earlier than you should. Also noticed I can still get as low as 8 in the Quick Draw on the GBA version, but I don't think I've managed better than 13 on the Wii U. Maybe I should try it with the component cable instead of HDMI to see if it's any less laggy.
