Topic: I´m unsure about VC in Wii U.

I´m sure they won´t leave to play all 410 games (or whatever number is) in the Wii U.

Why? Because they only announced to pay $1 and $1.5 tax if you has already games downloaded but they didn´t say about Commodore, Genesis, Master System, N64, Neo Geo, Turbografx and Turbografx CD taxes to update your game in the Wii U.

And i´m very sure they can´t do miiverse and ask to pay $1.5 for games like Sim City, DKC 1,2 and 3 or games like R-Type (master system and turbografx), Super R-Type or Bloody Wolf, Legend of Hero Tonma, Ninja Spirit, etc, etc. So that games will be locked only in Wii mode.

Fighting games like SSFII or Neo Geo games could be perfect with online and miiverse but i´m sure they won´t update the games.

Another sad thing the Balloon Fight game has worst image quality in Wii U than Wii.

Nintendo isn't about quality, there more into money.
Enjoy playing for a game you already paid for, now being even more unplayable.

First off, how hard is to know the difference between they're, their, and there? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

LOL what a joke. Nintendo not about quality? This statement is just ripe for a beatdown with available facts it's not even good flamebait.
Then again, you're probably just a Nintendo hater so it's kind of pointless to argue.

While I agree that it's unfair to have to pay to play our VC games in Wii U mode, it is entirely optional and does not render them 'even more unplayable.' Lol right because these classics have withstood the test of time suddenly they're unplayable.

You should be unsure. Nintendo won't support it as much this time around.

@DarkEdi: Don't expect all the Wii VC games to appear on the Wii U.

  • So what''s exactly the problem if you can still play them in Wii Mode?

  • Balloon Fight looks and plays great on my TV and GamePad.

I have a Wii so the entire thing is a non-issue and I want them to focus on things that aren't on VC on another Nintendo system already tbh.

It's great to pick up balloon fight for 30p cuz I never got it for the Wii VC and same will go for F-Zero! I want to see new games for the WiiU VC too though and I hope they just drop GC titles right on us as a pleasant surprise

The Balloon Fight in Wii U looks very blurry, the Wii version looks very good, the pixels are colorful and "square".

They really should offer visual options. It's not like the Wii U can't handle it.

But in the original game the pixels would have been non-square, because TVs used to have non-square pixels, so I think they actually corrected the Wii U version to get the proper aspect ratio. I was actually impressed that the balloons look more spherical on the Wii U, unlike the 3DS where they look squished.

What makes you think that?

Seven games in seven months isn't a good start.

I can't see it getting any better in the following months.

So do NES VC titles on the Wii U look just as uncolorful and dark as the Wii VC emulations? Nintendo seriously needs to do a patch....I have to crank up the color on my TV to even get it close to how it 'should be' even then, it's still not right.

Here's an example. I own the classic Mega Man Anniversary collection, and those 6 NES mega man games look ultra colorful and bright(especially using component cables) compared to the washed out uncolorful look you get with these Wii NES VC emulations. The difference is HUGE...I remember reading complaints about this very issue during the following months when the Wii was released and i'm suprised that Nintendo hasn't done anything about it. Just like they haven't given us an adjustable Contrast slider when playing VC Gameboy games on the 3DS in Classic green pea soup mode. As is the green monochrome look basically crushes a lot of detail....Boggles the mind why they'd let crap like this slide and not even bother taking that little itty bit of time to fix it.

I suppose part of the problem is the NES itself used an analog color encoder (compared to most other consoles on VC that used some sort of RGB scale to define colors), so with a real NES colors could vary between different TVs (well, CRTs at least). (do the Super Mario Bros. games look more "correct" to you with a blue or a lavender sky?)
I guess with a Mega Man collection, Capcom knows what the intended look is, but I guess it's not so easy for Nintendo to judge with the VC that has to support a ton of different games from different developers?

They could give us extra options for customize the options, like the Virtual Console Arcade. And they have now to fix all the N64 games so we can have rumble options and many extras like save ghost data in Mario Kart.

Because they said the ”trial” games were the only ones to be released over that period time??? Please remind if that is what they said because I honestly don't remember.

@WaVeC: Yes, this one NES VC game looks much better.
