I cheated rupees in that Chest Chance Minigame to buy thousands of Mysterious Shells in Minish Cap.
And then cheated the Minitendo figurine machine to get a new figurine each time.
It's a hell of a grind (not fun) in the original.
To get this part done faster (no %chance of luck involved that way) is actually more fun for me.
As you reload you'll see that the Minitendo guy actually is cheating on you as well!

Kid Icarus. I wouldn't be able to play it through if not for save states. Its one of those really hard NES games. If a game is so hard to you that prevents you from enjoying it, I think save states are more than justified.

The only games that are undoubtedly better with save states are ones that were badly designed in the first place (Eg. Zelda II). I suppose you could also argue for especially hard (but well designed) games, but you're kind of missing the point if you cheat your way through them. There are easier games available to play.

I have to admit to cheating in the NES Zelda on Wii U to win at the money making game.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Zelda II is a lot of fun to me now. But I've always hated losing my EXP when I turn the game off before Virtual Console. I don't know why they made it that way in the first place.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Any game where the default save system (or lack of it) makes it frustrating.
Which games depend from the player, fact is that while a game should be played as it was meant to, games should be fun first of all. I prefer to cheat with a save state and enjoy a game then hate the experience and regret I even downloaded the game (it's kinda weird, but in some cases save states really made that difference >.>; ).

Indeed I just realized... call me chater and say I will ruin the experience, but I think I'll buy Fire Emblem for GBA and take advantage of the save state feature... I'm the first one thinking it's "wrong", but it's a single player game, my fun is the first and only priority, even at cost to dull what the game designer planned originally ^_^;;;

Nearly every NES game available.

Super Metroid, Yoshi's Island and F-Zero benefit from this immensely.

Just for you.
