Since you've played Awakening it'll definitely be easy for you to get into. There are some different gameplay elements but the game does a good job at explaining things. It's also on the easier side as far as Fire Emblem games go.
Life needs to be as funtastic as you can make it

Which is easier this one or Sacred Stones? I found Sacred Stones to be quite hard on the latter stages, maybe I'm just not made for these kind of games.

Sacred Stones is easier. In this game, there's no world map, no stores outside of battles, less money, more fog, a few really strong bosses, and just a general sense of urgency. Oh, and your convoy is its own stationary unit that needs to be guarded.
For the previous couple of months I have been thinking about picking up a used copy of FE : Radiant Dawn, or else picking up a 3DS for FE: Awakening, so I was glad to see this pop up on the VC.
So to give the series a shot I've downloaded this as my first Fire Emblem game and so far so good. I'm impressed. Had a good first lesson in permadeath. Its looking good for trying out any of the other games in this series. This is my favorite style of play - I had a good time with Advance Wars as well.

Get Radiant Dawn but if you're playing for the story then I recommend not starting it until you've got the previous game (Path of Radiance) as Radiant Dawn is its sequel.
EDIT: That was on the assumption you've already found a location where Radiant Dawn is a decent price, otherwise get a 3DS as there's a huge library of games available.

Cheapest copy of Radiant Dawn with case and manual on Amazon is $75. If you want a like-new copy, you're looking at $100+. Add in that it's a direct sequel to an even more rare and expensive Gamecube game, you'll probably be investing $200 if you want story completion.
Radiant Dawn is an excellent game. I just picked up a copy on eBay for $65 (like new CIB-hopefully)
I had it in the past, but with the cost of tuition, sold it.
So, for interests sake, you guys whom have played Radiant Dawn in Wii Mode on the 'U - How does off tv play work?
My understanding with Wii mode off tv play is that you prop the gamepad up and waggle your wii'mote at it, because of the built in sensor bar. Now, I have read up on it, and Radiant Dawn does not use motion controls, but rather simply uses the directional pad and buttons that are on the wii'mote. Thus by my way of thinking, you should be able to prop up the gamepad (in its stand for instance) and maybe perch it on the edge of the couch, and simply play in off tv mode using the wii'mote, and with no motion controls, not have to worry too much about where the wii'mote is actually pointing at any particular time.
Does this make sense? Is that how it works?
Meanwhile, I have started tracking Ebay and Amazon Radiant Dawn listings, looking for a good one.

Just played Radiant Dawn off screen on the Wii U gamepad. Plays fine. I was in the same room as my TV, but the TV was being used with another game system at the time.

Cool, Cheers, good to know. I have pondered long enough and am going all in on more Fire Emblem. Looks like I'll be getting a 2DS for some Fire Emblem Awakening (not going to get a 3DS this year, will wait and see what happens with the new ones next year) and I am bidding on a 2nd hand Radiant Dawn.
Kind of a shame they mysteriously have refused to release this in the US. The Gamecube and Wii Fire Emblem games are overpriced online now for as old as they are (in my opinion anyway). At least I've got Awakening. Definitely worth the $40 for that one. Definitely need to see some Fire Emblem in our VC at some point, beyond the one that was part of our 3DS Ambassador Program.

They really need to re-release PoR/RD or at least put them on the eShop. I think a lot of people missed out on them, and it's a shame because those two were the best Fire Emblem games I've ever played. They were truly hidden gems that would've gotten more attention in the U.S. had the franchise been more popular there at the time.
and here I am sitting next to a copy of both, not playing them...
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

You...little....
Yeah I have both too and I'm not playing them. Lol. Great games. I'm holding on to them for a looooooooooooong time.
I don't even own a GameCube or Wii. I have a Wii U so atleast I could play RD. Those games are so long I don't have time to play them, I still haven't finished Awakening lol. I have thought about selling them. $150 extra bucks could be useful...
