With the release of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the Wii U eShop in Europe and North America, here's a nice, new forum to talk about the game.
I still have my FFTA cart as well as Final Fantasy Tactics for Playstation so I doubt I'll be downloading this game. It's still nice to see it on the Wii U Virtual Console. I'm sure a lot of Wii U owners would welcome some Square-Enix support on the eShop.
This is honestly one of my favorite Final Fantasy games. Which is impressive since I feel the soundtrack is meh and that would normally kill a game for me.
I remember playing this game on PS ONE but to be honest I am not a big fan of tactical games. I do remember getting an OMG feeling when I first saw that opening intro on the PS.

Got it on Thursday and I've played 10 missions or so. I almost beat it as a kid and it seems to be as good as I remembered but what I didn't remember was it being so slow paced. I wish there was a way to make movement and animations a bit faster.
It's its, not it's.

Awesome game!
Loved it ages ago, my first TRPG and it made me fall in love with this sub-genre.
This was also one of the best titles to play on the GameCube (thanks to the legendary GameBoy Player), the sprites are so nice and everything so detailed that it looks gorgeous even on the Tv screen, Square definitly picked the right GBA title to place on the Wii U.
Started it last night. I am about 10 missions in. Fun so far but took sometime to get used to. I started it and wasn't getting into it, then I tried a few more missions and then bam! I am hooked now.
Its still worth downloading. Suspend features, save states and a clear large Game Pad screen make all the difference. Plus, how often do you bother to play your Game Boy Advance?

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
It's getting way ahead but I suppose FFTA2 is likely for Wii U VC now? I remember that game being an improvement (most notably changing the law system so that breaking it costs you your "spoils" instead of being sent to jail).
That game used the dual-slot feature of the DS/DSL so I wonder how they'd support it (though if it was only used to give you the Libra battle skill thingy they could probably just hard-code it into the game?)
It's nice to see a Square Enix game finally appear on the Wii U VC in the US. But comments I've seen of players spending 100+ hours on this game makes me a little nervous. Can this sort of game be appreciated by someone who does not have quite so many hours to throw at a game? I've never played an SRPG before.
@cwong15: As far as I know you can technically beat the game in under 30 hours if you know what you're doing so it's not the longest strategy game out there.
