Topic: Donkey Kong Country Returns

I didn't find any thread for the Wii title "Donkey Kong Country Returns" with the exception of a very old and dead thread and therefore I started this one.

Since I downloaded the game from eShop a while ago, I finally want to play it. It seems there is still no classic controller support. Is that right? It is very strange to use the Wii Remote for the crucial roll move.

On the other hand, is there a way to move the control scheme to the GamePad for using Off-Tv-Mode? I guess not...

Search function doesn't work on my phone, but I don't see why we need another thread if you can easily revive the old one. It's a topic about a game that's still relevant and not a random old thread.

With the mods here who knows, I've revived threads that were 4/5 months only for it to then be locked for bumping and then the mod starts a new thread for it whilst another time I've had startied a new thread and then it gets locked and told to use an ancient one instead.

@arronishere: Yeah, the rules are not clear on that. I see no reason to waste an entire thread just because people haven't posted in it for a while, creating another thread with the exact same purpose seems pointless.

I never understand why this game didn't get a classic controller support but that means there is no Off-TV-mode applicable. What a pity. The game would be perfect for that.

I'm sure problem is that people revive old dead thread with pointless posts. If someone revived the old Returns thread with "lol" or something, then yeah we'd be annoyed.

I still don't get why the number of threads or how big the duration between posts in a thread really matters. If the post has validity someone will reply to it, if it doesn't have validity it will soon drop down the board. Have Mods got nothing better to do than close threads that aren't actually doing any harm?

@arronishere: Fair enough, but I don't think we need a new thread for every Wii game that's available as download on the Wii U eShop.

i say there should be an auto-lock here when threads havent been posted in for ages.

i also agree with this. wii disc games have their own sub-forum so wii disc downloads discussion should stay in the wii sub-forum. If Nintendo ever releases WiiWare games on the Wii U then I would also expect discussion to stay in the WiiWare forum instead of on the Wii U eshop forum.

But if someone posted in this forum with just "lol" you wouldn't be annoyed? Whats the difference? Just because the existing thread is old, doesn't mean its not currently relevant. I would consider making a new thread to discuss a game when a thread already exists for discussion of that game to be spam. Past discussion of the game is also still relevant to Wii games re-released on Wii U eshop.
