I downloaded them oth this morning, but didn't have ti to play them. My gut says Super Mario 64 is USA-version, while DK64 is PAL-version. DK at least has European languages available, so maybe because of that. Not so sure with Mario.

Dunno how I feel.

I wonder how Nintendo got through the inevitable licensing issues with the arcade Donkey Kong and Jetpac?

IT INCLUDES JETPAC?????!!!!!

I love that game. I'm so buying it just for that. What do you have to do to unlock it? Does it include any other Ultimate games?

Does anybody know if Europe will get the 50Hz- or 60Hz-version?

I had a nosy in the Eshop earlier and it says in the software description that Mario 64 is the US version while Donkey Kong doesn't say.I read others complaining earlier that it was the 50HZ Euro version so it must be.Ridiculous really,in 2015 your question is one that should not exist anymore but there you go.

Thanks. Therefore I will buy just Mario 64.

Of course the PAL version of DK64 have more languages but Nintendo should simply offer both version from which I can choose my favourite one.

I loved DK64, despite it's flaws.

So happy. Dat music.

Has anyone confirmed if these bonus games are included? I'm honestly on the fence here. I like the arcade game, but the fact is that I was never good enough to see the missing level from the NES version so I just bought that in the eShop ages ago. If I did buy this game and didn't like the core game it would appear to be a lot just for that (plus I'd get Mario Kart DS for free, which I have zero interest in). Hmmm.....

They're both actually requirements to beat the game. If you don't get the medals you get from beating them you can't unlock one of the final doors.

I never finished this game back in the day - got as far as Frantic Factory, but as I didn't actually own an N64, never got further. Yes, it goes way too crazy with the collect-a-thon formula, but I'm still incredibly happy I'll get to finally play it again. After the joy that was replaying through the SNES trilogy, I still need more K. Rool in my life.

I got the N64 DK bundle way back in Christmas of 1999. It was a pretty advanced game when it came out, IMO.
Also, I think PAL versions are still there, because of language selections that wouldn't be in the U.S. version. If people still have 50Hz, then that is the safe way.

I'll be getting DK64, but not Mario 64. I'll probably get Mario 64 DS if that comes out, though, because of the extras it has over the 64 version.

@Sean_Aaron: You have to beat those two games in order to fight King K. Rool in the final battle, so I imagine they should be still be in there. It would be unprecedented for Nintendo to go to such great lengths as removing Jetpac and replacing it with something else, just for an N64 game on VC.

But the Jetpac franchise is owned by Microsoft, who is a rival console manufacturer and Jetpac got an enhanced remake on Xbox Live Arcade which was published by Microsoft Game Studio back in 2007. Plus it's taken so long for Donkey Kong 64 to come to the Virtual Console; the Wii Virtual Console started in November, 2006 and only eight and a half years later are we getting this game. The fact it has taken so long makes me think that it's likely Jetpac will be replaced with something else Nintendo can use. Nintendo still own the copyright to Donkey Kong 64 obviously, but they don't own Jetpac.

It won the world record for having the most collectables in any game ever in the Guinness Book of World Records Gamer's Edition 2008.

I'll be honest here, I was very surprised to hear this. I wonder what made this possible in a Virtual Console release, considering that Jetpac is owned by Microsoft nowadays. That being said, I still don't think other Rareware N64/SNES games are coming.

Microsoft hasn't really ever been that picky about letting Nintendo have a game or 2 from their own studios. There's been Banjo games on Nintendo handhelds, after Microsoft bought Rare, and there was a Age of Empires game on DS. That was when portable gaming was mostly Nintendo; mobile has become more of a presence since then. So, Microsoft probably figures that it's not that big of a deal if the game was already in there, anyway. They would just cause Nintendo to have to work more, and Nintendo would probably pay just as much to replace the Jetpack game as they would to just pay for it to stay in, unchanged.

There's no reason to remove it, so it's surely still there.

I wish Nintendo could pay a fee to Microsoft or something to put up Rare games on the virtual console, for just a limited time at least. Banjo, Conker, Diddy Kong Racing, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Battletoads - c'mon Rare!

Now we need proof if the arcade version of the original Donkey Kong game is still there.

Donkey Kong is a Nintendo game so no doubt they kept it in there.
