Remember when they released the port of yoshi's island on the Wii U VC? I am thinking they may do the same thing with the donkey kong country games. Which is good IMO because DKC3 on GBA had a better soundtrack and they have bonus content.
Probably not because those games were done by Rare just like the SNES counterparts. Even though Nintendo owns the Kongs Microsoft owns everything else including the engine and such.
The reason Nintendo was able to release the port of Yoshi's Island is because they own the rights to the game. Supposedly the reason the SNES version of Yoshi's Island never made it to VC is because of the Super FX chip which the GBA port didn't use.

But Nintendo was able to release the DKC trilogy on Wii VC
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

The only one worth putting up is the third DKC. The other two are too inferior.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Should they release the GBA games now that we have the SNES games?
We're getting the Super Mario Advance games, so why not?
Besides the third one is really good. Better than the SNES version, in my opinion.

We only got the GBA version of Yoshi's Island because there were issues with the SNES version.
Although, I think Japan has the GBA version of Super Mario World. If that's true, I have no explanation for the reasoning.

Both of your comments are correct. SNES Yoshi's Island has licensing issues due to Super FX chip but Japan has both the GBA and SNES versions of Super Mario World just like worldwide has both the NES and GBA versions of Pac-Man.
No, that isn't correct. For starters, talk about Nintendo not holding clear title to Super FX related patents was just that, talk. There has never been any official statement from Nintendo on that topic.
Secondly, those patents expired several years ago. The Super FX technology is public domain and free for anyone to use, including Nintendo. Anyone that cares to spend five minutes researching patent life can go see that for themselves.
But since this is by far and away the highlight of the Super FX library (I love Star Fox dearly, but it's not a sentiment shared by quite a few people now that 20+ years have passed) and since they're emulating the GBA anyways, it's not difficult to understand why they just went with this expanded version rather than going to the bother of emulating the Super FX chip.

The GBA release is Pac-Man Collection and includes a much more accurate port of Pac-Man than the old NES version, along with three additional classic games. Not at all the same deal.

The Super Mario Advance releases come with Mario Bros. added though and if SMA4 came, Nintendo could technically include the e-reader levels.
There are more adjustments than just the multiplayer oriented Mario Bros. inspired bonus game. Super Mario World for instance, minus minor differences, turned the Dragon coins into collectibles along the lines of NSMB's star coins and added a handy status screen to track your progress for two somewhat significant differences.
And I'm confident they will come West, at least Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. I don't see them making Super Mario All-Stars available for $8, so I'm sure these two GBA ports of the highlights of that remastered collection will be made available on the Wii U. But if we get Super Mario World, I think it will be mostly just to placate the nuts that will be bothered that they have downloads for Super Mario Advance, SMA 3, and SMA 4, but no Super Mario Advance 2.
E-Reader levels though, I fear might be wishful thinking. M2's good for details, but I suspect that might go overlooked like controller rumble was for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Also a feature of SMB3 on the GBA when played on a Game Boy Player). But it's something I have my fingers crossed hoping for, since I never experienced any of the add-on levels. My copy of the game (The Player's Choice rerelease), didn't even include the starter pack of cards that the original release had and I never owned the e-reader accessory.
