And it's a total rip-off for those who are upgrading their Wii copies. Nintendo allows us to upgrade our SNES games for 1.49 € and even N64 for 1.99 €. Konami, being such a generous folk will let you repurchase the game you own for a mere 3.50 €! That's 50 % off on a 16-bit game from the 90's you already paid for! My head is still processing this amount of awesomeness bestowed upon us.
Also, Bomberman '94 got fatter since the last time I've seen it. Now it weights about 400 MB. And no it's not a TurboCD game to begin with. And no, it doesn't include the fully scanned original instructions' booklet like the GBA games released on the Wii U. It's the same plain regular Wii U text with half a dozen screenshots.
I really wanted to get this on Wii U because of the GamePad and the possibility of restore points, so I caved in and bought it. But it's the first and last TG-16 game I upgrade. I still have some Bonk on Wii Mode but at this price point it stays there.
Moving on, I made this thread to discuss the game too, of course. I think there isn't one just yet. And I really really cannot stress out enough just how good Bomberman '94 is. If you haven't got it yet and don't mind the aforementioned screw ups, you should really give it a try, it's pure multiplayer bliss, a perfect party game that supports up to 5 players on the arena.
@soma If you're buying it for the first time, I'd say they are both virtually identical but the Wii U VC has the usual extra perks like Miiverse, Restore points and GamePad display. So far, the emulation doesn't seem to have any issues.
Plus, on the original Wii, 5 players could play using 4 Wii remote and a GCN controller (or the other way around), if your Wii is a later model or if you are using the Wii U's Wii Mode, you can't use GCN controllers, therefore you're limited to 4 players.
Buying it on the Wii U eShop, will allow you to use the GamePad plus 4 more controllers. It's not often that I gather 5 people to play, but the few times I did, it was massively fun. Good times.
Oh, and rest assured the single player in this game is also quite good.
I forgot about restore points and other options TG16 games have for Wii U. It's also great to know there aren't issues like with Nes or N64 emulation. I'll get the Wii U version then, thank you so much for your detailed answer.
Is anyone else in the U.S. having trouble with the price showing up at $7 even though you already purchased it on Wii? Good to see that Europe at least is getting some discount ... will be worth it to me just to have the five-player mode.
@megasean I've got a PAL Wii U but it's the same for me,no upgrade discount. As mentioned above,it might take a few days to appear. It shouldn't and was always instantly applied in the past but I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U Eshop has only one person working on it by now, part time at that.
I've been wanting a Bomberman game for a while now. Super Bomberman R doesn't grab my attention due to how costlyit is, and it just doesn't look good to me. I'd rather have the five Super Bomberman games from the SNES on Virtual Console. I'd download all of them the day they were released without hesitation.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
I`m from Mexico too. I compared the same game in Wii mode and Wii U and the Wii U version has better resolution and you can fix your screen more bigger. Turbografx is better in Wii U than Wii but Wii U only have in this moment only 5 games, while Wii has like 50 Turbografx games (i don`t remember well).
Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.
