Topic: Are you buying GBA games from the Wii U or from online stores?

I want to play GBA games on the go so I would like to buy the cartridges instead. Granted, its more likely gonna be used copies which won't give Nintendo any profit but.....i don't know, there's just something about me that says that GBA should have been on the 3DS virtual console instead and playing them on the Wii U looks like odd because you're playing these small screen games on a tv.......

Atleast for the GameCube it was optional and not something forced but this seems forced a lot....to me atleast. So are you guys getting GBA on Wii U or would you like me rather prefer getting the original carts?

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

I still own a GBA SP and most of the GBA games I like, so I'll keep it retail. However, I did get Advance Wars on WiiU VC to play it on TV with a few friends, which is a bit more entertaining than handing each other my GBA.

Wii U apart from games where there's GBA to GCN connectivity of which I buy both (e.g. FE7 and FE Sacred Stones). The main reason for this is that outside of the GCN's Game Boy Player, all screens of consoles that support GBA carts are insanely small (I've become way too used to the 3DS/n3DS XL screen size for portable).

Wii U for what's available. I still have Final Fantasy IV-VI, Tales of Phantasia, and Shining Force on physical cart.

Guess I can finally give away my Sacred Stones.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I've got 22 GBA titles on Wii U VC and 18 physical carts so both.

I have over 50 GBA games in an overstuffed carrying case in my room...what do you think? Fire Emblem and Sacred swords were two of the only GBA games left that I needed, but were too expensive to buy via cartridge. So those are the only GBA games I bought/will buy since I still don't have Sacred Stones on there...

Same here, I've got most of the GBA games released so far in cartridge form, although they are lost somewhere at my mom's house, I hope she didn't give them away for peanuts. I have bought again Minish Cap and Zero Mission because I wanted to see how the played on the GamePad, and I'll probably buy the two Fire Emblem sooner or later because I've never seen them in the wild here in my country (not sure they were even distributed here). I could buy them online but, with games like Fire Emblem on GBA, the price is too high and there's so many bootlegs around - it's not risk-free. I know these games were supposed to be played on the go, but playing them on the GamePad's big screen is so much better.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

You could buy used carts which are affordable right?

I am buying VC. I don't have space for Boxes and Carts anymore.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well it got cheaper recently, but before it went for $30 used when I was collecting...that's too much for my blood. I didn't even spend that much for the Castlevania Double Pack. :/

I sold off my Gameboy Micro a loooong time ago; games I've been buying have been on the Wii U.

WiiU. I don't need to go and collect a bunch of overpriced carts from 10-15 years ago. Tbh the gamepad works pretty swell in terms of displaying the GBA games, it's just like a gigantic GBA. Only so many things get really pixilated imo.

I've largely only been rebuying a few favorites for HD support and off-screen play.

I own pretty much everything that I want in original form, but sometimes, I don't feel like playing on my GameCube connected to my CRT or on the tiny backlit screen of my SP.

The two exceptions are the pair of F-Zero titles. F-Zero X left such a sour note for me after loving the SuperNes original, that I ignored these and F-Zero GX when they were new. Bought the latter after it hit the Player's Choice program on the GameCube, but haven't ever bothered to buy the GBA releases in cartridge form.
