Or GBA for that matter? I just think it's highly possible. Nintendo kicked off this year in January with a ton of big announcements, it almost felt like a mini E3. One of those announcements was the Wii U VC. Which they immdiately announced NES and SNES would be there from the start, with GBA and N64 coming later. Well, it's been a whole year almost. Anyone else expecting them in January or at least hearing anything from them?
And for god sake's Nintendo, at least give us yes or name about GameCube emulation.

It would be nice, but I'm far from getting my hopes up.

I expect a similar Nintendo Direct this January but I'm not getting my expectations high. N64 on VC would be about damn time.

Nintendo said N64 and GBA games would be coming to Wii U virtual console at some point, when they first launched it... just not when.

GBA was officially announced, I'm fairly certain N64 was never officially announced.

You know what? If Sony had Nintendo's legacy.... Sony woulda had all these games on Virtual Console a long time ago. Sometimes I wish Nintendo was more focused and time oriented.

Did Nintendo say N64 is coming or people are assuming? I know Nintendo did say GBA games are coming to Wii U for sure. I don't know if Nintendo decided to bring GBA games for 3DS yet.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

May I ask this: why the hell WOULDNT N64 games come to the VC? And why haven't they come already? I don't understand why this isn't a thing by now. The Wii VC makes the Wii U VC look like a joke. Even if it doesn't have as many games it should at LEAST have the same number of systems that the Wii VC did. :/

I imagine it has something to so with the features they have added for Wii U and 3DS VC like Restore Points and Off-TV Play.

@therick112 Why would that delay N64 (or any other consoles) games?

@Guitardude7 They probably didn't developed N64 engine for Wii U. Software get complex like that. This is why we always see a lot of NES and SNES on eShop. I'm not sure why they releasing so little over the month. I thinking its have to do with testing and business strategy.

@Guitardude7 The development of a VC game is not as easy as we all like to think. They have to make the code from the old system run on the new system. To get restore points and off-TV play to work, I would imagine more code needs to be inserted to make this possible. Perhaps they are having difficulty inserting this code into N64 and GBA games and making the games run smoothly?

Nintendo UK's website:

"You’ll find games from NES and SNES on Virtual Console, while popular Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance games will also be added in the future."

http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Wii-U/Download-Content/Games/Virtua...

That's been there since the Wii U VC launched. 99% sure the Nintendo Direct about the VC confirmed it too.

Couldn't agree more in its current state the Wii U VC selection is laughable when compared with what was on offer on the Wii VC after the same period of time had past.

No, they'd release every game as an HD remaster ;)

When I was on the PSN last year, there was only a small amount of old PS1 and PS2 games

@DarkwingLz is telling an truth. To be honest I was very surprised by amount of games they have right now. The catch is that not all PS1 games can be play on Vita and EVEN PSP. All PS2 games only be play on PS3.

PSOne Classics are dead in America, and PS2 Classics are dying. Only Japan gets a good number of old games, regardless of platform.

I hope that they do. This is one of the things which bothers me as a wii u owner. Since i transferred my wii data to my wii u and lost gamecube controller functionality, I cannot play any of my n64 purchases. I refuse to purchase classic controllers, when i can purchase the newer wii u pro controllers which are better and are compatible with most current wii u games and will be with future releases. Also, I am not purchasing third party gamecube adapters just to play one or two wii mode vc games. So here is what I am looking forward to:

releasing all the older n64 games on the wii u VC OR allowing the wii u pro controller to work in wii mode.
