Apparently, it's easier to beg and gripe for a game to come to VC than it is to buy the original copy.

Who knew.

Is it convienent to g buy a N64 and a game and a controller.... NO
That is why people want it on the VC. I don't have an N64 anymore so I would have to buy all three so that is not worth it at all.
Not to mention the majority of gamers today don't have N64s so VC is by far the best option!

There you go again. Seriously get a life. I simply stated why people want it on VC. VC was made to bring games back for people that wanted to play them again without having to buy the physical game. It was made to be convenient specifically in that way. Go troll on another site and stop ridiculing people on their decisions.

I'll admit that all the commonly stated flaws of DK64 are true. It is a complete collectathon, it is a BK clone, it isn't as much of a masterpiece as the DKC trilogy, and there is a massive amount of backtracking. Whether or not it still is good is opinion though, and I'm sure for many like me it is wanted quite a lot at the very least for the nostalgia. For those of us that feel it's worth a repurchase, I hope Nintendo finally indulges us.

As for the Jetpack game, if that's the sticking point it really shouldn't be hard to replace it with something else. The game was simply an emulator within the game, the code should be able to be replaced with minimal work, and they could stick anything in it's place without affecting the rest of the game, maybe Balloon Fighter or something. They could even make something up. The greater difficulty is emulating a game that needed the expansion pack but I'm fairly certain they've managed that so I think this game can come if they feel it's worth the effort. Unfortunately, I doubt they feel it is.

They have the capabilities to give this game to us. Even if it's considered a hit or miss, plenty of people would buy it. I don't know how effective proposing this on Miiverse would be though. Nintendo can be a bit stubborn. Just because they gave us Earthbound doesn't mean they're taking requests.

I think Nintendo is just pretending that Earthbound is being released because of fans to make the fans feel important. They probably had it planned since the beginning... I wouldn't doubt DK64 comes out on Wii U VC without anyone even talking about it at all.

Really? You think Nintendo had plans to released Earthbound in the US for the past seven years and was just waiting... for what? And if DK64 did come out, clearly there would be people talking about it. 1. People are talking about it now. 2. People are excited that Donkey Kong Jr. was released on the Wii U VC.

I think the biggest problem when it comes to n64 games, is that it simply takes a lot of work to convert n64 games into Wii / Wii U VC games. Evidence of this is that there are few n64 games on the VC, the n64 had it's own way of doing things (which is why many developers chose to make games for playstation instead) and home developers have had a hard time emulating n64 games.

So, put that on top of the fact that jetpack is in the game and you have yourself a bit of a dilemma. Not one that can't be resolved, though. I'm sure we'll see DK64 available on a Nintendo system at some point in time in the future. It's just a matter of when.

Now that I think about it, though, I'm pretty sure Nintendo actually does still own a small amount of stock at Rare, which is why Rare was still making games for Nintendo's handhelds after Micro$oft bought them. So, perhaps some sort of arrangement could be met where DK64 was released with Jetpack still intact.

The reason that Rare is able to make games for Nintendo's handhelds is because Microsoft themselves don't have a competing handheld so for one its not a conflict of interest and it also lets them make a little bit of money in the handheld market.
