I've heard from a very good source that the next Smash Brothers is actually going to be a Capcom-style crossover: Smash Brothers vs Square Enix.

Square Enix is said to be closely involved with the production of the game, and new characters include Chocobo, Slime, Black Mage, White Mage, Cloud, Vanille and Rikku.

This is, naturally, awesome news.

Win. So much win. I used to do that all the time, and now it caught up to me. Too much win.

I'll add it to my "convincing rumours" list. Only because Waltz seems somewhat reliable.
Oh, but if he isn't being serious... a Chocobo will die. I will kill a Chocobo with my bare hands.

Hmm, Square Enix and Nintendo have been cross-collaborating a lot recently, so it's not that far-fetched to me. I'm sure that if they retain SSB's prominence in the title and keep the fighting mechanics the same, it should do pretty well.

Exactly.

Ok I didn't expect anyone to take me seriously. So that in itself means it just might happen - since games developers tend to know what is a good idea and what isn't and, well, there's Fortune Street to prove the characters work well together.

Frankly, it should happen. Square Enix and Nintendo absolutely dominate the industry's most loved characters, so bringing them together in a Smash Brothers game just makes sense.

Even if not a full cross over, Chocobo, Moogle, Slime and one or two of the Final Fantasy characters should put in an appearence.

I had a good laugh out of this one, just saying.

Why do astronauts backtrack?

What? But it truly is happening. You see, my friend told me. And his aunt's cousin's next-door-neighbor's dad's nephew's uncle works at Nintendo, and the says they're putting in tons of FF and DQ characters.

By Capcom style do you mean like Street Fighter? A claustrophobic 2D fighting space? I can't imagine Smash Bros. without the giant fighting field. The game would lose a lot of it's charm, imo.
Or is it just going to be Smash Bros. with a lot of Square Enix characters, (Enough to be able to call it a cross-over game.) but still have a lot of Nintendo characters and snake + Sonic? I really want to be excited about this, but I'm a bit worried.

I guess it could work. If this is true, I better see a Capcom vs Shonen Jump later on though.

If this does not happen, you will be responsible for the death of a Chocobo.

Now, time for an off-topic pop-quiz:
If you could have either a Slime or Chocobo as a pet, which would you choose? The Slime can speak English, by the way. Which is good if you can put up with it changing words to include 'goo' and 'slime' in them. (Ex. "Come gooman, it is slime to goo.")
