I just noticed something that doesn't connect with the rest of the series.

Past Zelda games have said that the Master Sword was created by the Sages.

What the heck is that all about?

legends or biblical style stories get messed up over time. If I recall there's a story in both the bible and torah that have different endings but are the same story.

WAT!

that remark about the Bible and Torah is incorrect to my knowledge, the Bible's old testament is essentially identical to the Torah (just a few extra books), but let's not get into that.

My theory on the sword is that the Goddess Sword was forged by the Sages (or they at least had a hand in it), therefore, they technically created the Master Sword

I may have got it confused with Qur'an. Too lazy too bust out the holy books so i'll leave it at that. (or was it the dome of the rock)

Anywho yeah I could see the races shown in the prolouge being the sages.

Am I the only one with complaints about the sluggish pointer controls? Minor annoyance, yes, but it doesn't make sense. The standard Wii menu responsiveness is PERFECT. I don't know why they would have made the cursor feel so heavy in menus for this game.

That aside, I'm 44 hours in, on my way to the Lanayru (my third) dragon, and LOVING the absolute heck out of this game.

I do know for a fact that the Qu'ran and Torah/Old Testament have different versions of the same events, such as God/Allah telling Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael in the Qu'ran and his son Isaac in the Torah/Old Testament (he almost did it, but was stopped at the last second as it was only a test, for those of you who don't know the story), anyway, I digress.

Makes perfect sense to me that's what could have happened too, I guess for now we'll never really know

I don't remember hearing that the Master Sword was created by the sages. When was that established?
(Not being cheeky, I just genuinely don't remember).

I hate that part, yeah, just try to get right in front of it then bombard that general spot. The ship is constantly moving, so it can be a pain to hit...Gotta hit it 3 times.

I mean technically the flames that tempered the sword are the embodiment of Din, Nayru and Farore, which were all three sages...right? Or are they goddesses?

"Although the English manual of A Link to the Past mentions that the Master Sword was not created until after Ganon invaded the Golden Land, the Japanese manual states that it was forged long before the Imprisoning War occurred. Shortly after the creation of the world, the Goddesses instructed the people of Hyrule to forge a sword that would have the power to vanquish anyone who misused the Triforce.[13] The location of the blade was already forgotten by the time of the Imprisoning War, and no hero was found worthy of wielding it."

I think that's probably trying to tell us that we may never know the "true" origins of some of the legends of Hyrule.

Din, Farore, and Nayru were the three Golden Goddesses who created Hyrule and left behind the Triforce, there have been 11 sages (though two succeeded previous sages) mentioned by name throughout the series, Rauru, Sage of Light, Saria, Forest, Darunia, Fire, Ruto, Water, Impa, Shadow, Nabooru, Spirit, and Zelda, Time (presumably time, due to the them of OoT), those 7 sages were in Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker introduced two more, Laruto, the Earth Sage who was succeeded in her role by Medli, and Fado, the Wind Sage, who was succeeded by Makar. Any number of these sages or their predecessors (as Sages are not immortal) could have been the ones who forged the Master Sword

I thought the Goddess Hylia created Hyrule? Where does she fit in? Cause she was first introduced in Skyward Sword, and she was never mentioned in any other game.

Spoilers...I guess:

This game is lacking in story. I mean, the 3d Zelda games have done a great job in the past of having some amazing halfway point twists and not much more story was needed after because they were so well done. So I'm really dissappointed that after a completely awesome battle it seemed like the plot was gonna become cool and interesting and awesome but no the old woman just tells you "this is the part of the game where you go to new dungeons to find things to unlock the final area/s of the game" and little else. More often than not I'm fine with minimum plot but this is really the wrong way to go with it, especially since there's plenty in this game that's hinted at being interesting story but they aren't doing anything with. I mean, can't I at least Metroid Prime scan something to find out a story? Can I at least have that option?

Maybe the plot will get better soon but now it just...exists, which is really dissappointing. Especially considering how awesome the gameplay is, which makes the story just look lazy by comparison.
