This game is going to be awesome!

I agree. I've waited a long time for a sequel to the Nintendo 64 import release. Now comes the grueling wait until its release in 2010.

Plain old gamer :)

This game will be epic. The Wii has seen alot of sequel that took a decade or more to make a reality. (NiGHTS, Punch-Out!!, and S&P)

Looks like an epic Wii game. Too bad we didn't see any footage of it in Nintendo E3 2009.

Well, we did get a new E3 trailer, just not at the main presentation, which doesn't matter. I think it's on Nintendo Life's main page. It's looking good, though the 2010 date is saddening.

Saddening? More like more days to hype and a better game for us to play! More epicness from Nintendo is to come!

I understand, but that makes me no less impatient. I just don't like when announcements are made way in advance. Nintendo said they were going to stop doing that, but this, Galaxy 2, and Metroid all are showing us games that we won't be able to play for too long. The games look great though, so I won't cry.

I'm hoping they include a remake (at least to use the same controls) on the disk. Not sure if I can buy just the sequel, and I'm also pretty sure I can't justify the 1200 points for a game that already had awkward controls being made more awkward for the Classic Controller; not to mention 1200 points for that short of a length. Plus the game never really popped at me anyway-- the graphics aren't terrible, but they aren't mind blowing. The gameplay doesn't look incredible. The voice acting and story seems completely tossable, and I don't remember any music from the dozens of trailers and previews and reviews I've seen trying to justify buying it.

Throwing it in with new play control would be a great way to justify picking up S&P2, while at the same time justifying spending time and money on S&P. Without playing the original, I doubt I'm going to play the sequel, unless they're going with the Final Fantasy "they have no relation to each other whatsoever" strategy going for them.

S&P2 looks truly fantastic, I never played the original but this looks like it will require my attention.

A negative note...

Worst character design EVER. Where's Saki?

Isn't grabbing my attention, I'll probably pass on this one.

I agree with the lame character design (at least hero characters) but I love the look of the bosses....and it's treasure. This actually inspired me to DL the first one, which I'm having an absolute blast playing! As my friend said last night, upon seeing that game, "Dan, how the hell didn't *you*already own this game? I mean look at it..." Evidently someone knows my gaming tastes...

Well, yeah, but the character design was terrible in the first game as well.
Hopefully the sequel will feature better controls than the first one.

@Feba
If your concern about not having played the original first is because you want to know the story, don't bother. The story is almost completely incomprehensible, filled with typical overwrought anime nonsense. I actually have a soft spot for that kind of nonsense, honestly, but I don't think playing the first one will help you with the sequel in any way.

I could see Treasure including some levels from the original remade as bonus levels. That would be nice. The first one was incredibly short, so they could certainly fit it.

well, I like bizarre stuff too-- I'm head over heals for NMH, and I have watched at least one educational program just for the 'what in the world is happening' factor. I just don't like playing sequels without playing the original-- RE4 being the only exception in recent memory (That I call RE4Wii 'Recent' should be a hint), and that only because it was the first RE game that seemed like it had decent controls.

Same reason I'm not buying Red Steel 2 unless they rename it Crimson Steal or something-- I don't mind missing bits of plot here and there (haven't played MG1/2 either, even though MGS is one of my favorite series), but I do mind missing numbers. Incomplete number chains just aren't right, unless they've been long established as being completely disconnected (Final Fantasy, for instance)

Can't wait for this game. I love Sin and Punishment so much. It's the most played game on my VC. I love the quirky, bizaare Japanese feel that game has. And the level design is some of my favorite ever. Seriously, I have never felt so bada** in my life than when flying around on the concrete block taking down an entire fleet. Sin and Punishment 2 is a must-buy for me.

If you were trying to say badabing, you need two more asterisks. Just letting you know.

Sorry, trying to keep it clean for the potential youngsters. How's this: Bada$$.
