It's not "that" bad per se, but there's a lot about that game that doesn't really work. Looks like a team of 13 years old kids who tried to make a "mature" game by putting together all the mature cliches the knew. Compared to it, No More Heroes 2 belongs to another galaxy, really.

It felt like the developers were trying to say "You wan't Hardcore, we'll give you hardcore!" During that time there weren't exactly any Wii titles with blood and violence aside from RE: Umbrella Chronicles(i think?) so people took notice, but if anything it really did feel like a 13 year kid colaboration with immature in your face goopy blood and guts. IGN made such a big deal out of it for this very reason. With endless articles making it look like the next HUGE Wii title for this very reason "OH hey look! Wii just got Hardcore and mature" and the other ridicously bogus articles they managed to hopelessly dig out thir buns.

I was never drawn to violent videogames unless they were horror....Splatterhouse, Resident Evil & Silent Hill are a few examples. BUt Madworld feels like it's purposely throwing this violent crap in there for the sake of trying to appeal to the 'maturezz' tweeny crowd by showing them that wii has violent videogames.

Either way, whatever if it's fun it's fun , yet I found it ridiculously boring, confusing, irritating and hard to look at and torture for the ears.lol.One of the worst Wii games I've graced my Bubble man mits on. :p

No More Heroes 2 is much more immature than Mad World, but Nintendo fans are required to like NMH2 because it has 8-bit sprites.

Mad World is a pretty cool game. It's made by a lot of the same guys who made Okami and God Hand on the PS2. They've done a much better job with Mad World than they did with God Hand.

I dunno, I really liked the NMH Saga because it's creative, flashy and fun, not because the 8-bit wink. And why is it immature, just because it isn't that serious?
On the other hand, I found Madworld pretty much tasteless and filled with "violent games" cliches, gratuitous violence and even more gratuitous swear words (at least, in my language) which make the repetitive gameplay even more irritating. All the creative ideas they had, they exhausted them in the first hour of gameplay (and for a 6 hours game, is not a good sign).

So really, it's not that bad of a game, it's a nice exclusive and probably worth having since it's sold for peanuts nowdays, but it's an irritating one because they spent so much effort on trying to make it look "mature" (by adding blood, swear words, misogyny and chainsaws) that they forgot that there should be so much more to a game than these frills. All sizzle no steak, basically.

The original NMH was creative and fun. No More Heroes 2 was a lifeless chore. Kotaku wrote a good review that really nailed what I hated ab.... NMH always surprised me, I still can't believe how generic the sequel was.

spizzamarozzi wrote:

Because NMH2 has more than over the top sex, swearing, and violence. You also have Travis Touchdown picking his nose, throwing a hissy fit, collecting porno, and masturbating.

That's how I feel about No More Heroes 2. Mad World is better than that.

That Otaku review of NMH2 was pretty great Gamesake! ;)
Yet NMH2 seems to boast one of the biggest negatives that I feared would carry on from the original and that's the tedious and repetitive Kill 'ALL enemies' THEN proceed generic Level design that reaked major havok in the original. :|

But i think it's great that the 8-bit jobs are optional since the cash your getting is just used to upgrade Travis's wardrobe so repeating those Jobs isn't necessarye by any means. But aside from that the only other real downside seems to be the 8-bit training sessions.

Again, No Hub World which alows you to teleport anyhere on the fly + Optional 8-bit jobs to get cash to upgrade your wardrobe seems like a giant step up. I expect to see some crazy wicked far out awesome Boss battles as well.....But i despise the thought of having to go through swarms of repetitive Enemies with straight forward brain dead stage design, like what was present in the original. :p

lol. The review seemed pretty in tune and accurate when pointing out the flaws of the original NMH imo and then some. But ya....I don't visit Kotaku, so i have no idea what their reviews are like. But if you were to diss Destructoid.com's reviews I'd have to hire my Radicaly pink Birdo assasin to hunt you down and chop you up into little itty bitty Shy guy pieces. :p

Hey Ryno what were some of the worst Wii titles you've played? And have you got around to playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 yet? B-) As much as I loved the original Galaxy, the Hub world annoyed the hell out of me to no end....There was just something about it i didn't like, plus it was confusing and a pain to navigate, especially when trying to remember which galaxy(depending) you needed to get back to.

All of this has been addessed with the SMB3-like map in SMG2....thank god. :p

I don't consider Twilight Princess a Wii game (it's a port), or it would be on here, too.
Actually, now that I think of it...the Wii version has such awkward controls that I don't think I'd put it on this list if it were the only version available.
