really, you owe yourself to buy this game. It's called Dawn of Discovery (in the U.S.) and its by Ubisoft. If youve seen it in the store the fisr thing youve said to yourslef is Bargain Bin Shovelware! but trust me, your wrong. What is it? It's a city building rts type game se in the age of exploration. Features plenty of depth, without all the annoying micro-managment.
Why you need to buy it? It's is a well produced game that provides a decent size campaign mode and an endless mode that you will keep returning to. Despite its cheesy artwork that reaks of another wii cash in, this is a must buy titile for any fans of the genre and any self-repecting wii owner
The best part is you can piuck this game up for 20-30 bucks. And if you dont want to take my word for it vheck out some reviews online and you will see that i do not lie.
CHECK OUT MY AWSOME VIDS! http://www.youtube.com/user/ATRUEZELDAFAN
I have been trying to find this game in stores but no one in my area seems to have it. I do want it though. I heard that it is a really good game. Which version did you get anyway? DS or Wii?
I have looked everywhere for this game too. My local GAME store told me they had returned their copies due to no sales after only a week after it came out. Anyone seen it?
I looked it up on GameStop and watched the video. It looks like a good game. I would get it but my mom probably wouldn't let me get it because of the "Alcohol Reference".

When I was trying to remember where the hell that alcohol reference was, I couldn't. I had to go to the esrb website, which gives this citation: "Your truth bedazzles more than wine". That's what the Shah's daughter says when the Prince flirts with her. That's it.
I'm no fan of RTS, but I do have a hearty degree of self respect, and a Wii. What a dilemma.
It's not exactly like your traditional RTS. It's far more streamlined. Here, it's more like a SimCity and Age of Empires hybrid. You progress to the next civilisation stage by meeting fixed, certain requirements of your people (i.e. they want a Dairy nearby or they want a church or nice clothes, etc.) You've got a circular menu for buildings, and there are far fewer things you need to do with each building, compared to PC RTS where there are a bunch of things to research and upgrade with each building.
Also, for example, when you make a logging cabin, they plant trees around themselves, so it's a perpetually regenerating resource and other resources don't run out, so you don't have to keep checking back to relocate them, and only have to sell off some goods in your warehouse every once in a while to make room.
Scouting is done automatically when you acquire a new map, so you don't actually have to send someone out and manoeuvre them about.
What I'm trying to say is if the reason you're not a fan of RTS is because of hectic micromanagement, you should know that this game doesn't have that. That's not to say it's really dumbed down. Just a very different, quite relaxing style of RTS specifically tailored to the wii.
@dark link If I was 6 and played alien hominind for gamecube (which has A TON of cartoon blood and gore) then you can play dawn of discovery over one small alcohol reference.

seriously, your mom wouldnt let you because it mentions achohol? my parents dont care how much language a game has and they dont care about drugs or achohol. all they care about is violence and sexual conteht
Heisenberg says "relax!"

Well, I am 11, and I guess my mom doesn't want anything to get into me (Which she doesn't need to worry about.) or my brothers heads. I dunno, I haven't asked. Maybe she wouldn't care. I'll ask her later.

@Clicketyclick, your avatar bedazzles me more than truth - so maybe I'll end up getting this game. Honestly though, it's not the clutter or management aspects I don't enjoy - Lord knows I get enough practice with them in the real world - but perhaps it's the deferred results. I'm just not into the Sims-style games. Thanks for the heads up!
