EGM gave this game a 6.5. I guess every good game these days has to have a troll review.

It took a while to reach this point, but I was truly awestruck by the game today when I emerged from a lengthy cave and was able to see the full sky in all its glory; you probably know the part I'm talking about. I'm also getting better at understanding the combat system, but that one moment alone has certainly sold me on the game with or without other flaws.

To others who also struggled at the beginning, I'd say that it is a bit of a slow and confusing start, but the payoff seems to be well worth the effort.

Really a 6.5. I haven't read egm in years and now I know why. Has anyone even given this game lower then an 8?!

I think the art design is great and most of the time the graphics are breath taking. However the detail up close shows just how simple the graphics can be sometimes. Characters can look like all one big shape and not as much detail as they could be. I do understand the graphics took a back seat to game play and story and that's fine!

PS. Zack I'm playing KI atm!

@Cloudcult10 The tutorial mentioned some sort of reward for collecting a row or set, but I'm not sure what the rewards are yet.

@SamuriaShyGuy Are you sure it's a troll review? maybe they just genuinely don't like it.

I'm about an hour into the game so far, I love the story and the visuals are impressive. I'm not a huge fan of the combat system, but I'm sure the more I play the better I'll become.

I give EGM a 4.0 out of 10. I find that I get more enjoyment by looking at the clouds than reading something out of that magazine from the 90s.

Just so you guys know, you can save a lot of those quests for later, and just focus on the main story for the time being. Just stock up on the quests so you know what you can and can't miss, then move on. You don't have to spend hours upon hours doing everything in an area, and in fact, I highly recommend against doing that. You'll burn yourself out that way.

Sorry, but my OCD won't allow me to do that. I can pull away and continue with the story after a while, but I must do at least some exploring and questing when I get to a new area.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Fortunately I gave up on the OCD completionist side of gaming years ago, so I can just pursue a couple side quests and a little wandering before moving right on with the story. With a game this immense, I'd never finish it if I was concerned with seeing everything.

Hoping this is great when I get my hands on it tomorrow. Especially considering Uprising was a disappointment.

No, you will hate this as well because you dislike things that are too amazing for you to comprehend.
Or you know, you just have different tastes. Hahaha... That would make you REALLY inhuman.

As did I. I then spent another hour and a half exploring the beach outside of town. Btw, I honestly can't think of anything more thrilling than being chased by 7 level 70s, including a unique, while only at level 9.

The one minor annoyance so far is not being able to walk in to peoples homes and shops. I think this is the first time I've never been able to!

Big anticipation for this! Hmm, NoA's online store still says "preparing order" for me. What's up with that? :/

EDIT: It doesn't say backordered for me... yet. You'd think they'd have printed at least enough copies for the preorders.

On topic. I know this is just basic stuff but I've never seem better looking grass on my nintendo system! However the jump animation is just as bad if not worse then skyward sword!

I like how they can jump really far but can't jump very high.

Isn't that more realistic, though? What would you think if some random kid from town carrying a weapon walked right into your house like he owned it, searched the place, and left without saying a word?

I wanna loot the homes. Is that to much to ask?! I get where you're coming from though. In this games case it would add about another 20 hours just to enter those homes so ill pass lol. I guess if all the people are out of their homes at some point of the day it doesn't really matter.

Well I can't say I'm a fan of the story, but the game itself looks pretty fun. It'll most likely be a bargain bin purchase though, if The Last Story comes out at around the same time. :3

Hahaha! I wonder if @pixelman still believes he'll find, "Xenoblade Chronicles," in a bargain bin someday. :P
