Now that I have a Wii U, I've been wondering what I should do with my old Wii console. It seems that used Wii consoles fetch very little in the after-market, maybe $30-50 for a full system. The Wii remote and nunchuck — which can be used on my Wii U — alone are worth that much at least. So even though my Wii U can play most of my Wii games, I'm inclined to keep my old Wii console. After all, Wii games are ridiculously cheap now and the console still works great. What would you do with your Wii console?
Nope. Not only do I consider it Nintendo's 2nd best console ever after the SNES, it's also a great machine to keep around due to it being one of the best emulation machines ever put on market once you crack it open with homebrew. Even better than OG Xbox. I'll keep mine until it dies 10 years from now, and then probably buy another one.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I have mine still hooked up to my TV, just like Wii U and PS4, everytime I get a new system, I just swap it out for the older one. I play my games on their original system, so my Wii U is for Wii U games only. My Wii still works fine, so there's no reason to get rid of it.
I never sell my consoles no matter what it is (except the PSP cause it got hot and inflated and gamestop got scammed by me)
I put it in the box and there it shall remain until further notice.

Great to hear the Wii getting some much deserved love. it's such an underrated magical revolutionary console. Love it to pixels and bits.
NES > SNES + Wii >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> N64 > GCN
Come on, GCN was at least better than N64. It can boast more than 4-5 games that were worth playing at time of release, let alone over a decade later.
I love my Wii, and often consider it my favorite game console of all time. So many games I enjoyed; either by being familiar with the IP or by venturing out into the unknown, so many great uses of the revolutionary Wii remote, (the impression I had when I first played Wii Sports was nothing short of amazing) the expansive VC library, (which I still browse through to see what I might give a try) not to mention GC backwards compatibility which saves me the time of hooking up my actual GC. The Wii just plain rocks!
Ironically, I'll probably trade in my Wii U without question if the NX is backwards compatible.
I would NEVER sell anything videogames-related no matter for how much. That's also why I release my amiibos from their boxes even though I almost never bother scanning them in. The only time I ever sold a game was Metroid Prime 2 on eBay. The day I sent it to its new owner, I felt so guilty, I bought a new copy on the way home xD
About the Wii, I don't think you can sell it for very much, especially considering the amounts of it that were sold.

That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. Thank you.
Don't sell your Wii, OP. It's unique and it's little blue drive light is so homely. Only get rid of it if you can't stand clutter and need the space etc.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
